I tried to zap the PRAM holding P-R-Command-Option on boot, but it didnt seem to work?

is the computer supposed to re-boot imediatly?

I feel your pain, at least you have managed to get PT9 to see your interfaces.
maybe try disabling some of the instrument tracks individually (just for a while) to determine which one is causing...

Ive just installed PT9, first the updater, then a clean full install (5Gb)
yes ive installed the drivers also, Core audio see's the 192 but then you quit and when you load pro tools it...

Machine et all work fine with the digi hardware, system prefs shows the 192 but in tools says 0 in, 0 outs??
