Digi 002 with control surface and live recording

Has anyone tried to use the DIGI 002 with the integrated control surface for live recording and FOH mixing at the same time?

I was thinking about buying one for small coffee house type recordings...

I agree with Phil on all points. Yet, I would like to add one modification - if you are going to have your music mastered by a professional mastering house, mix at 24-bit/48K and not 44.1K.
