Re: Quicksilver

Some of my favorites:

MIDI Pipe (http://homepage.mac.com/nicowald/SubtleSoft/) - a beautiful little app for routing and affecting MIDI. Gives you functionality and features similar to the Logic...

Re: Feature Request: Disable Start/Stop with Space Bar

This reminds me of a feature request I've asked for before many times - which is an absolutely totally unstoppable transport safe mode for Pro Tools. Time code stops - transport keeps rolling. Space...

Re: Need help synching new drum track-PLEASE

While I'm thinking about it, re #1, since when does a drummer who is probably working for hire having any say in the matter? #2 pretty much invalidates the point, but if it was just #1 at issue, pay...

Re: Need help synching new drum track-PLEASE

It's way easier to do it with beat detective and adjust the resolution of beat detective to generate markers on the bars using the kick or snare if it's a reasonably straightforward 4/4 track....

Complete uninstall trashes IO setups

FYI to Digidesign and all - when I performed a complete uninstall of 7.4 so I could do a clean reinstall of 7.4 and the cs3 update to clear the playback buffer memory allocation bug, the uninstaller...

Re: Object Grabber acting strange in 7.4cs3

Among the 6 billion people on this planet, I am the only soul who cares about this bug in Pro Tools.

I feel so special.

Re: just for grins.....

One reason 10.5 compatibility would be nice is because a lot of other software is starting to require it. If you're doing Final Cut editing on the same rig, as I and many others are, many FC plugins...

Re: VCA Control In Record Mode

I agree. It seems like an oversight that this doesn't work this way, especially since if you have the VCA in touch mode the volume automation on the VCA gets recorded and will affect the...

Re: Object Grabber acting strange in 7.4cs3

Ok, another attempt to hone in on this and demonstrate the problem:

Chop up two tracks of audio with various edits in different places on each track, and a couple of edits that are in the same...

Re: Object Grabber acting strange in 7.4cs3

Anybody else seeing this? Digidesign, any thoughts? It's 100% reproducible and makes the object grabber more or less unusable on grouped tracks. Seems like an issue that should be addressed.

Digidesign Coreaudio Flaky...

Since PT 7.4, perhaps only as recently as 7.4cs2, the DIgi CoreAudio Manager is doing something flaky that I never used to encounter.

Basically, when I'm using coreaudio to play application sound...

Object Grabber acting strange in 7.4cs3

I'm getting strange results when using the object grabber on grouped tracks. It might be easier to make a video of this, but here's a way to easily reproduce it.

Group 8 tracks and record some...

Re: OT New Melodyne Unreal

Just watched the video again...

My favorite new quote is:

Peter: "...what doesn't work in theory can still work in reality."

Can you imagine applying that concept to solutions for energy...

Re: OT New Melodyne Unreal

Well, it's just another reason to record your DI straight out of the electric guitar so you can reamp it later (after you've now individually adjusted the pitch of every string with this thing!).

Re: MIDI I/O gone?

Yes, exactly...what about the hardware timestamping? Digidesign, can you comment on this? Adrian Haselhuber perhaps...? What is the solution for hardware timestamped MIDI going forward?

MIDI I/O gone?

What happened to the Digidesign MIDI I/O ? I notice it has disappeared from the product pages. It's no longer listed under interfaces in the HD hardware section of the web site, etc.

Discontinued?...

Re: ADC and Master Fader Issue

Furthermore, once ADC gets into this broken state, messing around with things any further produces somewhat random and unreproducible results. If you do the above test, and then deactivate/reactivate...

Re: ADC and Master Fader Issue

Seeing ADC problems here too:

Make 2 mono audio tracks. Leave the pans dead center.

Audio track 1 to bus 1-2

Audio track 2 to bus 3-4

Put an identical click sample on both tracks, spaced...

Re: LOUD noise emitted from DIGIDESIGN plugins ONLY

It's not a session corruption issue that you are going to discover by having someone send you a session. This bug happens on PPC or Intel. To create the blast of noise, make a few audio tracks, add...

Re: Enuff Problems, Let\'s Add Some Features!!!!!!

Don't forget about VCA group faders for doing vocal ups. They're a very handy way to setup multiple variations of a mix without touching the original faders & automation.

Re: Any one tried elastic on live drums?

Where it becomes an issue, and this is very common, is when you are supplementing/enhancing your live drums with loops. So far EA appears to be very accurate for warping mono or stereo loops. But...

Re: Elastic Audio is fantastico!

As it is right now in PT 7.4, I think Live is better for tweaking multitrack drums. The inside in-between the beat stuff, as Steve mentioned, is the reason to warp rather than chop with Beat...
