Re: Surround botch
You're confusing ADAT with TOSLINK. Optical S/PDIF is carried over TOSLINK and uses the same connector, but is definitely not ADAT. It can carry a 5.1 signal encoded as AC-3 or DTS, or uncompressed...

Spoke to Cedar at a trade show, and it is running under Rosetta 2. Native support is planned.

Re: M1 Silicon MacPro Monterey and T-Tap issues
More specs about your machine might be helpful, but I think you’d have more luck contacting AJA.
Until they support T-Tap officially you’re going to potentially have issues. It might be worth...

Re: Dolby Vision/Dolby DAPS on a Budget
Ah I wasn't aware of that - last time I looked in my copy of Resolve Studio it mentioned a license - good to know.
My point was even calibrating an OLED takes a certain amount of knowledge and an...

Re: Dolby Vision/Dolby DAPS on a Budget
Unless you know a lot about grading and can aford a very expensive reference monitor and associated Dolby hardware, I'd give up on the notion of Dolby Vision.

They released the beta on day 1! Shame Fairlight sucks. I love Resolve, but Fairlight is the weak spot.

You’re confusing an eGPU with a video IO card from Blackmagic or AJA.

Why did they want it in 2 channel configurations? Odd they wanted film order when DCPs are SMPTE channel order.

H.264 IS AVC. The problem here was the video was H.265/HEVC which Pro Tools doesn't yet support.

Elastique AAX will take care of everything, but do it in 2 separate internal processes, but the end user it looks like one process.
There's also Elastique V2 which only deals with pitch. For SRC...

Re: How to transfer 32bit float into session without clipping
I know this is an old thread but I also find normalizing it works. You can keep the normalize value at 0 but it recovers all the information there and you don’t have to guess how much to bring it...

Re: How to transfer 32bit float into session without clipping
Is the audio embedded in the AAF? If so it won’t be higher than 24-bit so the 32-bit workflow won’t help you. It was probably recorded at 16 or 24-bit too. Does the waveform look clipped in RX? If it...

Re: Aja vs Blackmagic - current state of play in Pro Tools on Catalina/new Mac Pro
In a lot of cases it's just as good as a referenced system. Given you won't have it in your Atmos workflow I wouldn't worry too much.
On the drivers front, both BM and AJA are very stable these...

Re: Aja vs Blackmagic - current state of play in Pro Tools on Catalina/new Mac Pro
I'm guessing you'll be using the Dolby Audio Bridge to send audio from Pro Tools to DAPS? If so you won't be able to use your Sync HD, so don't worry about Video ref.
For almost all workflows it's...

Re: Codecs & Catalina (what are you using?)
Premiere Pro, Resolve and plenty of others manage to implement their own QT export options so Avid should be more than capable of it!
