Re: Avid Audio Survey- Let them know all about it...

Add another. Told them I thought the hardware exchange prices were fair IMO, but I will not upgrade because I do not wish to support the software upgrade pricing precedent.

Re: Let's clear the air, folks...

The 9HD to 10HD upgrade is what I find insulting. It's about value, and just because I can afford to buy something doesn't mean I will.

Paying $100 for a $30 steak doesn't make you a man. It...

Re: Converting Volume Automation to Clip Gain = Higher Volume!

Any plug ins on the track? I guess it's changing from post-insert gain to pre-insert gain. Just a thought.

Re: "A game changer"

Chris,

In your "anonymous" tirade were you referring to moi? Hard to know because several posters found your original post to be arrogant. FWIW I would be happy to enjoy a cold beer while...

Re: "A game changer"

Too arrogant to realize you're being arrogant.

You were dismissive of a feature that you've now been informed, by several "top-of-food-chain" types, would be quite useful. The proper response is...

Re: Protools 10HD upgrade to from 9 is 999.99 ..... WHY

For Me it's pretty simple; I have HD3 accel, and the usual huge plugin collection. I actually think that the HD Hardware trade-in prices are good. When the dust settles with regard to AAX plugs...

Re: It's simple: don't upgrade.

BasketCase is obviously a newbie hack. The real pro's use the Synclavier DtoD and are happy to pay the $500,000 upgrade fee. I can't wait for N.E.D.'s next release and the subsequent thinning of the...

Re: Does Motorola Own TDM???

I have no inside info, but as to the future of TDM, it wouldn't surprise me if they come out with new HD cards using Intel chips that run RTAS in parallel. They could perhaps write a virtual...

Re: PT 8 | Plug-In Upgrade Problems

You make a valid point, 25g, but this could also be traced to a hardware problem, or insufficient RAM.

Re: PT 8 | Plug-In Upgrade Problems

It's worth mentioning a few known issues:

1) If Slut-Pumper is never instantiated, then, as the main platform becomes obsolete, Wifey 1.0 can eventually be cross-graded to Vintage Warmer. While...

Re: Mouse or Trackball? ---Vote now!

Um, Floydio,

Perhaps you misinterpreted my response to "JSR" as being directed at you. It was directed at him. I like this thread!

I use the Kensington Orbit Optical Trackball. I find the ball...

You can also use Photoshop to take the red out. It usually sounds better.

Re: TDM Plug In Distortion compared to RTAS

Interesting results. I would be curious to know what the null would be between that same mix bounced once with RTAS and once TDM with just one plug in enabled, maybe just an EQ or something with no...

Re: Applying multiple fade outs only

A work around would be to apply the fade outs you want, with fade in shape set to square. Then audiosuite the regions using gain plugin set to 0 gain change and 'region by region'. Then do the fade...

Re: It would be so great if Audiosuite created handles

I've been asking for this for years too! It would speed workflow in many situations, but especially for dialog editing.

Re: What\'s the Pro\'s preferred way to connect a Su

I second what Matt said. I have the Tannoy sub and BM6as and that's how I set them up. I think it's also good to have the sub on a switch, so you can quickly turn it on or off. That way you can...

Re: Memory Locations window \"Names\" column too narrow

Yes! I find this a constant annoyance too. It's an over due fix that should have been part of the original design.
