Re: Clearing up all the Factory Plugin Presets

"Rant on"
This is one of my favourite annoying objects... it started with PT 10 or 11, that the users of ProTools are no longer considered "Pro" but "Stupid". Now you have to scroll through endless...

Re: Audiosuite Plugin suffixes?

I once started a document collecting these suffixes with their according audiosuite processing delays. The latter ones are now obsolete, except for Neyrincks Soundtools LtRt, which still does not...

Re: Flux plug-ins stirred up

Funny, I seem to be the only one suffering from the insane renaming Flux did with Elixir. Every year the plug-in name changes and I loose the ability to open older sessions properly.

Here is the...

Re: Izotope RX3 Now Available

I feel $400 as pretty steep. I would not buy Insight and my impression is, that at least half of the upgrade price is because of it. I personally would prefer a upgrade without being forced to pay...

Re: Surround panner by JL Cooper

Hi Peter,

I am using this silver panner with PT HD 10.3.5 without problems, via Emagic MT4 MIDI Interface. Makes panning nice, but the workflow isn't the fastest. This is not a motorized panner,...

Re: Why buy a BM Intensity Pro?

I am working with a 30" and a 1080p Sony beamer. I used to work with both connected to the ATI 5770, but the 10m (30ft) DVI to HDMI line to the beamer was very unreliable, I constantly had a...

Here as well, but only if Paul starts to implement "cmd-ctrl-click" on parameter selects/reveals the automation lane...

Re: Low volume

This is not a question which is appropriate for "Post&Surround".

Apart from this I would raise the level of the two syllables with clip-gain.

Re: Drop-Outs in destructive recordings

Hi Brandon, the problem in my case is NOT the punch-in point, the problem is, that PT stopped writing during the recording at two points, each in a different reel, and wrote half a frame of zeros...

Re: Drop-Outs in destructive recordings

Yes, of course, but I always hand-select the precise punch-in point and record from in-to-out. The problem in this case was, that PT had a problem writing the files without showing an error or...

Re: Drop-Outs in destructive recordings

Hmm, why? It did never occur before (the last 10 years approx.). Do you mean, that PT has no precise control over the writing procedure while destructive recording?

Re: Drop-Outs in destructive recordings

No, the recording drive was pretty empty and a normal fast 2 TB disk. No other programs running, just straightforward mixing.

And no, as I had 6 reels in the session, I did not use DPE, just...

Re: Drop-Outs in destructive recordings

No, I always punch-in ahead of a transient, never inside a line or a steady musical tone. I adjust the pre-roll time always according to the longest reverb settings, usually 2 seconds longer, in this...

Drop-Outs in destructive recordings

I had a very unpleasant experience today: I found drop-outs on tracks destructive recorded in PT.

Setup was this: PT 10.3.5 HDX2 System on MacPro 12-core 5,1 OS 10.7.4 (H/W Buf 256 Delay comp...

Re: Sonic NoNoise > AAX?

At least AVID seems to own the code, as stated by David Tremblay http://duc.avid.com/showpost.php?p=2013124&postcount=17 , so at least there is a chance they could bring it to AAX, if they want to......

Re: Cinema Trailer Mix - LEQ?

NO, my dear, it's not a question of who's been there first, hen or egg, the mixing stage loudness is a discussion which followed the playback complaints of the directors. The egg is the flawed...

Re: Cinema Trailer Mix - LEQ?

1. yes
2. approximately, yes
3. from experience: yes, but worse, very often they do not re-adjust back to 6 or 7 after the commercials
4. no, the LEQ difference was meant to compensate for (purely...

Re: Cinema Trailer Mix - LEQ?

No one with healthy ears is able to mix to 85LEQ with Dolby Volume set to 7. You have to pull the Volume down to 4, as is done in the cinemas. What a stupid reference!

The most horrible thing is,...

Re: FFOP vs Leader at Hour Mark

In germany (europe / not 100% sure about UK) the norm is FFOP on hour mark, film as well as TV (EBU). Film usually reels as hours (0x:00:00:00), TV FFOP on 10:00:00:00.

Re: Bringing up the same automation parameter for multiple tracks

Keep in mind, that this short-cut has to be implemented by the programmer. A lot of plug-ins do not support this short-cut - very annoying!
