Thanks for the help albee , its must appreciated. I just finished the dverb test ( with the new version of dverb) and scored 370 @ 90% CPU for 5 minutes solid..so I will take that as a good sign :-)

Thanks for your help man, I think I am going the x79 route. Seems like the most powerful / up to date build. Hopefully I can stop turning into a computer technician and just make music again.

Hey, so quick question. So when u say machine do you mean strictly motherboard? or all of the components? Cause if that's the case couldn't I just swap the motherboard and keep the i7 the ram etc?...
