Ian... I have had this problem for 6 months, sent 10-20 e-mails back and forth with digi, made phone calls, spent hours on forums and have only found very temporary solutions, you 100% have resolved...

okkk. someone else posted on another thread about pro tools not loading when you have an ethernet cable plugged in due to pro tools searching for network drives (or something) unplugged my Ethernet...

^ that didn't actually fix it.

In the end it turned out to be because i was daisy chaining my hd from my profire 2626, using ubs now (bit of a pain) but my sessions are opening fine.

Thanks for all the help, I ended up finding out the problem, PT prefs and database helper doesn't delete the database stuff located at library>app support>digidesign>database, once I trashed them,...

I usually do the same, but this problem seems like something I should fix as it is affecting my sessions. After they eventually open the audio playback is very staggered and always begins with clicks...

I have been having a lot of trouble when trying to load sessions recently, unless I have just restarted my Mac the session will take about 15 mins to open. Even if I literally open quicktime for 5...
