Yeah, only when Reducing the buffer, not increasing. The LYNX firmware and drivers are most recent update (which is only about 3 weeks ago, actually). The LYNX is set to follow the DAW buffer.

Thanks for the reply! My computer is a beast. It is a 10 core i7 with 64gb of ram. All the optimization stuff Avid says to do is done. This was a fresh install of windows, protools, etc 3 months...

I have heard some people say that doing a fresh Windows 10 install is different somehow than just doing the upgrade. Is there really a difference?

Another thing I could do is upgrade to Win 10. I have held off for quite some time at this point. I'm always worried to make a huge change like that when I have clients never more than 2 days away...

I did that one. If I remember right, right click protools icon, properties, advanced, run as admin...or something of the sort.

Update: I did a CPU test with intel's diagnostic tool and it passed easily. I also did a stress test with Prime95 and the warmest I can get the CPU is 48*C. Seems reasonable.
