Re: Strange message when inserting plug in

I still don’t think the answer shines through in that thread and I read through it twice. One person suggested it, no one else says “yes that’s it!”— I think I would have still been confused if it...

Re: Strange message when inserting plug in

Well why didn’t you just write that then, instead of coming across as a smart Alec? Jeez some people.

Re: Strange message when inserting plug in

Brilliant, a link to another thread that provides no answers.

Re: How Is Sample Rounding STILL A THING

Try out my recipe and see if does the same with you. I should have noted that I'm working at 48kHz, it may give different results at 44.1kHz or other sample rates.

Re: How Is Sample Rounding STILL A THING

That's still not good enough. I've inherited this mix from an artist who worked in Logic and decided that was the tempo, and if that's the tempo, that's the tempo. If they want to work to 4 decimal...

Re: How Is Sample Rounding STILL A THING

This is not a good enough excuse. There is simply no point having a "ticks" mode but if it doesn't place the clips on the grid at the same point consistently.

Also, there are still people on this...

Re: Folder Feature Requests

Yes point taken.

I went back to using basic folders as I much prefer the "hard" mute on the folder, i.e. cutting all sends to fx etc. The mute on a routing folder seems pretty useless to me, in...

No bounce or commit option for basic folders? Jeez.

Re: if Wavecache.wfm is corrupted, does it matter?

You can actually delete the file, a new version is just created when the session is loaded up.

Re: Is Pro Tools behind the curve?

If Reaper floats your boat, then go for it. But as someone who gets sessions from other artists, producers and engineers to mix I can tell you how many times I've had to boot Reaper in the last 20...

Re: Folder Feature Requests

The “top-level” overview needs to behave more like a “clip group” . E.g. if I copy a block from verse 1 to verse 2 I need to be able to see where that block has come from, so it needs a) lines to see...

Re: MIDI problem - can anyone replicate?

You've misunderstood me : I'm not arguing for the removal of higher buffer sizes. I use higher buffer sizes all the time when mixing. I'm saying there is no point pretending the facility to record...

Re: MIDI problem - can anyone replicate?

Update : just had email from Avid that this is a “legit issue” and they’re working on a fix. To all the unbelievers I say : you’re forgiven. ;)

Re: "ALL" Group keeps turning on

I totally totally agree that it’s ridiculous that there’s no undo for “delete track” in 2020. There was probably a good reason for it back in the day but it’s just bizarre behaviour in this day and...

Re: "ALL" Group keeps turning on

You know ! (i.e. shift-1) is a shortcut for ALL when Groups Keyboard Focus is enabled? Not that I can imagine why you'd be pressing that by accident, but still.

Re: Building Orchestral Template, but PT Hangs

Just chiming in to say I had this exact same problem - I spent quite a lot of time trying to set up a template and I just ran out of patience in the end. There are only so many SWODs you can put up...

Re: Folder Feature Requests

alt-shift-F seems the most obvious, to the point where I actually went to do it and was disappointed when it didn't work.

Re: Playback momentarily stops when editing within playlists

It look like it's another one of those intermittent bugs, I can't get it to do with it with just one track playing. Let me get back to you with a recipe...

Playback momentarily stops when editing within playlists

Does this not bug the hell out of anyone else? It never used to do this. I honestly think I would prefer to have the old system back. It feels like such a basic thing, to be able to move clips about...

Re: Thoughts on Logic Pro live loops...

Further to my earlier slightly disparaging comment, I just loaded in a loop I created to Logic and messed around with the remix plugin while recording in realtime to Tools - and it's worked a treat!...

Re: Groups vs. Folders

Disappointed no one's replied to this, as I was looking forward to seeing if there were any hidden insights or gems.

As a complete aside, I'd really like a "strictly temporary" form of group -...

Re: Thoughts on Logic Pro live loops...

Looks very similar to the Garageband thing I have on my phone which I open up now and again when I'm bored on a train. It's kind of fun, but I can't really imagine making actual music with it. (I'm...

Re: How can I speed up play back on a Mac?

I don't think this numeric pad solution is much of a help really, as the next playback speed is x2 which is pretty "chipmunky".

Anyway this is what I would do in your position - enable elastic...
