Work around for the moment is to mult the mix bus output.... works ok, just wondering why multing the output on the master fader doesn't work... I've seen it done in videos like this one:

Thanks for replying - I have tried this to no avail - my version on Pro Tools HD is 10.3.1

I hold down control, select the output on the mixer, main 1-2 is selected.... then I select another...

Yes totally agree there - I use amplitube or Scuffham S Gear to track. The recorded dry track is what I'm most concerned with

Just realised I have an iRig HD.... apparently can plug straight into...

Wet tone? Wouldn't it make sense to reamp with as close to the original sound of the guitar as possible? Eg playing the dry guitar back through an amp so the dynamics, pick attack and playing...

Yes am already engaging the 15dB pad on the J48. There's no clipping on "normal" level guitar parts, just the meaty and nasty stuff.

But I want to get this right the first time, don't want to...

THanks, this is good advice. Seemed so simple to me to begin with.... I wasn't happy with the sound plugged directly into the Avid. Very woolly and unnatural... so I figured get a good quality...

Ok , this helps a lot.

As far as the clipping goes, I have to turn down the guitar to nearly half to avoid this.... which rolls off some high end.

There's no other way to plug the J48 into...

Dean USA Thoroughbred , time capsule humbucker for this purpose.

Have already got the pad on the J48 selected.

No mic pre - signal chain is guitar > J48 > fast track > pt 11

PT 11.3 Channel Strip Plugin - Presets not loading

Have just upgraded to Yosemite and installed PT 11.3

For some reason, when I use the channel strip plugin, the presets aren't there anymore.

I tried "import settings" and selecting the preset...

OK - correction to my previous post. My friend assumed that when the blue light came on , the mbox was working. On another try, it turns out it's not and is not recognized by his computer either on...

Also - the only light that comes on is the blue power light. None of the signal, or 48v power lights on the front panel light up

The mbox is recognized on my friends macbook pro using the same cable. Also - my mbox 2 mini is...

That will be your problem - Mavericks and PT works fine, but not Mavericks and Mbox 2/mbox 2 mini. Mbox 2 hardware is supposed to be supported through 2015 so hopefully an update will be here soon
