Thanks for the advice. Any suggestions on syncing the mbox 2 pro, mpc5k, and motif. I currently have the motif running into the mbox via midi. How do I add the mpc5k, spdif, USB or is it not...

Home Studio Configuration

Any advice on how I should configure the following equipment in my home studio and/or suggestions on what should added....Thanks.

Error message

I am trying to select my patch names from digidesign and I keep getting the following message:

"Pro Tools could not find appropriate patch names in the currently selected patch name document...

Thanks. Midi tracks still not recording.
I have the first midi input selector placed on "All".
The output selector is placed on "Predefined" Yamaha Motif Port 3.
The "Aux 1" meter is hot but...

Flommer, everything worked except the recording of the tracks. Sounds good analog 3-4 paths are working but I still can't record.

I want to do all of this, but right now I need midi from the motif to protools and midi tracks in pro tools to play my motif.

the digi box and 4 yamaha ports are showing and are check boxed. Nothing happens when I select test set-up.

You're probably right. I am familiar with Audio Midi set-up in OSX. I will read a bit more before making any decision. Thank you.

The Mbox 2 pro that I have is firewire not USB. Is it better to connect the motif to the Macbook via firewire to Mlan or just go with the midi cables and connect in AMS

Yes, the Motif does come with MLan16e2 but it is not compatible with Pro tools nor is the USB because the Motif acts as an interface.

When I connect my midi cables I can't link the motif with the...

Thanks again, but it's still not working.

Unable to connect the i/o's of the yammy to the Mbox.

Should I be:
running firewire from yammy to computer
running firewire from Mbox to computer...
