I upgraded from 9 to 12 a couple years ago, and regularly open v9 files to continue work. I've never had a legacy session fail to open. The plugins will all be gone, for sure. But the audio files...

I expect the 24 hour limit is inherent in the SMPTE spec. Probably possible for Avid to customize it, if customer demand got high enough, but I'd hate to have to deal with the compatibility headaches...

You'll fill the largest available hard drive long before you reach filesystem limits. On a Mac, you could theoretically record in stereo at 192kHz for about 22 thousand years if your drive were large...

Yes, and Shift-F opens/closes all selected folders. I wish Avid would combine those such that Option-Shift-F (on Mac) opened/closed all track folders whether selected or not.

I'm the other way around. I use basic folders a lot, but never routing folders. My basic folders always open in the state they were left when the session was last saved, even when copying the session...

That's correct, and the bug has been reported in other forums (gear slutz, pt expert, etc). Routing folders are a nice idea but not a safe option yet.
