Conversely, I just went through a situation where the logic board was bad on my new computer. I had just gotten everything changed over and authorized when it quit working. Apple had to replace the...

Re: Clarett 8 Pre Issues

It can take just a bit to get your head wrapped around it since it is kind of a "go between" for Pro Tools (or any DAW) so that you can monitor direct OR DAW monitor.

The manuals for the 8 Pre...

Re: Calling northern hemisphere!!!

We’ve been at 33c for the high the past few days.

Looks like the coming week will be about as warm, and dryer than a popcorn fart!

Re: Uggg...rebuilding my system from scratch

Living at the corner of 14th and Plumb, (14 miles out, plumb in the middle of nowhere) I do the same thing.

It is a whole lot less pain thata way.

Of course now they are building millennial...

Re: Happy 4th of July to Everyone :)

I get my fireworks from a guy called “Lucky”. He has a patch on one eye and 3 fingers on his left hand, 2 on his right.

He has the BEST fireworks :-)

Just kidding. We have what we call the...

Re: ProTools price adjustments from July 1st.

^That there is what is ruffling my feathers, anyway^

I've paid for major point upgrades since version 7.0 and a cross grade from M-Powered to LE. Anywhere from $50 to $150 as I recall. Just...

Re: ProTools price adjustments from July 1st.

Not entirely accurate. I just talked to Sweetwater; you can buy as many renewals as you want to ,but Avid will only register up to three (3) additional years. I was told you could actually save the...

Re: New subscription deal???

Yeah you’re saving $100 per year not $200, but with that, you give up the option standing on a certain version because you surrender your perpetual license.

As others have pointed out, you can...

Re: ProTools Quit Grayed out, can only force Quit

I've had it happen a couple times as well. Same thing, force quite, moved on. No ill effects. Single desktop as well.

It would be interesting to know why though. No other crashes or issues...

Re: Anyone know of a good Fiddle VI?

Re: Anyone know of a good Fiddle VI?

You could try one of the solo violin VIs from either UVI or EW. They both work pretty well but you'll need to shape the sound considerably to make it convincing, especially if you want the "twin...

Re: Renewal Quesrion

Yup. I took advantage of the savings a few days ago as well. About 30 days prior to my support plan expiration.

It was also my understanding that the "Bonus Plugins" were no longer available.

Re: Air Con in the studio, advice please.

Depending upon the brand I think but my mini split has a quiet mode for the fan, and a body heat sensor. The sensor can tell if someone is in the space and direct heating or cooling accordingly.

Odd Transport Behavior

It has been very rare that I have an error, or crash, or some glitch with Pro Tools that I cannot attribute to a goofy plug in, or some loose screw behind the keyboard, :D.

But here is one I...

Re: How to run VIs through 11R

Well the most absolute easy way to do it is to use 11R as your interface.

Import session data from 11R template, copy your audio to the guitar DI track and trim the gain. You can play with that...

Re: I'm thinking about moving from PT, convince me otherwise !

Agreed, Jack.

Re: FX Loop: unable to get it working. Yes, I've read the manual. (SOLVED)

Glad you got it sorted. And welcome by the way.

11R manual is really quite comprehensive and fairly well written. You’ll find it very useful.

Understanding the signal path makes things a whole...
