Very interesting news. I see that the WD HD has a 16Mb cache and your others 8Mb cache.

You can create a session with a whole lot of virtual instruments on each insert and see. Windows should see up to 1.5 or so on "PF usage" before balking. To get more, see the thread about the 3GB...

I think it is very quiet, though I would not call it "extremely", especially coming from an AMD64 stock fan (very noisy). If you are satisfied with the noise level, don't give it a second thought.
