I've have just spend the last 8 hours trying to reinstall OS X hoping I could get the 10.8.4 back. Unfortunately this could not be done.... Even though my computer was shipped with 10.8.4 it installs...

Hi, I have the same problem on my new late 2013 27" iMac (i7)! I get the same message about CPU Overload even though I only have a few plugins running. This happens in PT 10 & 11.
