Theoretically you should be able to get the free upgrade only because you bought the STUDENT Pro Tools 9. The student license comes with 4 years of free upgrades so hopefully you can download PT 10...

Yes. Just double check your account page on Avid and make sure you can see both Pro Tools 9 and 10 software listed under your products. From there you can download either one.

The upgrade will replace your PT 9 software with PT 10 but the license is a 10+9 Bundle so that if need be you could still use your iLok for PT 9.

I just received my email to upgrade to PT 10 around 8 am this morning. Upgrading now. I purchased my Academic Pro Tools 9 just this last September 28th. Way excited to start using 10!!!
