Exactly. Peripherals are HIDs, aka terminals. They can't be compared to computers.

Excellent point. Just to add to this, why is the 9 year old Command|8 controller still working with PT 11? I know one Pro Control system that was purchased brand new 9 years ago prior to the EOL...

It worked with LE and native systems just fine. All controller communication is via ethernet. I made my own D-Sub cables for it back in the day, which was quite the magnifying glass project. :eek: :D...

It worked with Pro Tools LE and Pro Tools Native systems, including the vanilla version(without the Native card) etc.

With 42% of the buttons on the Control 24, you don't even need to go as far as converting anything to MIDI. That would be the long winded way.

Hi Dean, there are approximately 195 buttons on the Control 24 that wouldn't need any remapping to MIDI. They'd actually get passed directly to Pro Tools itself. It's no different than using the hex...
