Yeah sorry guys it’s VI’s

Yes it’s anytime there’s a playback error. Even if the issue isn’t the VI plugin.

I’m not sure when it started but at a certain point on my old i7 MBP anytime I get a playback error the midi tracks have to be made inactive and reactivated doesn’t audio to play from those tracks....

Just picked up a Mac Studio M1 Max. So far so good. Just a stock model with 32gb of ram.

Pro Tools seems to be ok on it. Plugins are ok. Any word on when we will be fully native?

I think in this day and age you’ll likely not find many who stick to one DAW. Pro Tools does what it does great! I’ll probably never mix or edit audio in another DAW as long as they stay relevant.

From my experience and the experience of some others I've encountered, you'd be best to stay on Yosemite. El Capitan was one of the worst operating systems for people even though being qualified....

I'd honestly go down to Yosemite. There are still some laptops released prior to the release of El Capitan. Although they ship with them you can downgrade to Yosemite.
