MacOS Sonoma

Alright, we all know it isn't supported, but folks are gonna install it anyway. Who is first? And does your PT rig still work following the install? :D

Re: Plugins compatible with Apple Silicon natively

Funny, my pace of paying for new or for updates of non-AAX Native plugins has slowed to a crawl as well. :D

Re: Plugins compatible with Apple Silicon natively

I signed up with PA in an effort to avoid the UAD ecosystem, but to get a couple of the killer BX plugs for my master bus. That didn't work out so well for me. At least at the moment.

Re: Plugins compatible with Apple Silicon natively

I am using Waves Studio Rack in order to use PA plugs on the Master. It works really well.

Re: Waves Creative Access?

Tin foil hat time:

They knew exactly what they were doing. Flipping the subscription bit on Sunday, after AVID released M1 Native Pro Tools on Friday the 24th. This was intended to catch studios...

Re: Waves Creative Access?

My WUP lapsed in November. I was waiting for a sale on WUP or an upgrade for my Horizon / misc plugs. Instead I will be shopping for other options, as a large part of their catalog is legacy plugs...

Re: Pro Tools 2023.3 is out

2023.3 is running fantastic for me in Native AS. Dropping Rosetta Mode immediately. Unsupported plugins be damned. PT runs so much better in Native, I would rather move forward without some plugs.

Re: Plugins compatible with Apple Silicon natively

I don't have any major projects happening right now, so I am switching over to AAX M Native immediately. I have a lot of plugs that are now supported, more than enough to get great mixes. Going...

Re: Plugins compatible with Apple Silicon natively

I have stopped spending money with them until I see AAX M1 Native working in my sessions.

Re: 2023 Apple Silicon and Pro Tools

These vendors that are dragging their feet / turning their older plugs into abandonware, are really pushing me back to Waves.

Re: Pro Tools Public Beta: December 2022

As do I. I believe these yearly OS releases are really unnecessary as to all the havoc they cause for vendors and us lowly users. Apple does a great job at pushing the blame to vendors for not...

Re: Pro Tools Public Beta: December 2022

Hopefully support will be added at full AS release. That would be very expensive abandon-ware.

Re: Pro Tools Public Beta: December 2022

Agreed. Calling PTE biased however, is being polite to them, to say the least.

Re: softube

Great point. Folks poo poo Waves for whatever reason, but their AS native plugs were available at moment one, as was SoundToys. My sessions that use those plugs seem to run perfectly and use less...

Re: Pro Tools Public Beta: December 2022

Plugin-Alliance doesn't work for me either. Boo. Most of my newer mixes use PA heavily. Waves and Soundtoys work great after checking for and running updates.

Re: Pro Tools M1 support - dec 27th (beta)

Yeah I had to shut all that 'helpful' sh*t off. The last thing I want when I am recording/mixing is to have little red circles in the dock, counting how many times I am being texted and how many...

Re: Pro Tools M1 support - dec 27th (beta)

Bingo. I am NOT giving AVID a pass here, when I say ALL software has bugs, but when it comes to code from ANY company, we are all QA/QC of last resort. :D

Re: Pro Tools M1 support - dec 27th (beta)

I get what you are saying. So I, like many folks on this board, have been in the computer industry for a very long time, and have been an early adopter of software products many times, and have seen...

Re: Pro Tools M1 support - dec 27th (beta)

I am taking a more positive spin on this. A public beta means that AVID is showing progress as opposed to promising ‘vaporware’. I don’t have anything pressing going on, I might try it out once I...
