Looks like a digi firewire driver crash every time (digifw). Could be your FW card, or something else on the FW bus.

Re: About the Isobox concept...
You will find it much cheaper to replace the fans in the G5 for silent/quieter ones. For the sheer cost of Isoboxes there is lots that can be done to reduce the computer noise first.

Re: Audio out of Range???
I was specifically speaking about WAV files, their size limits and a common programming error about the size available for them. Lots of programs think the limit is 2GB when its actually nearer 4GB....

Yes.
Any operation that reduces the region in size from the originally recorded length will do the same thing.

Re: Audio out of Range???
How long is the file? There are some programs do funny things with file sizes over 2GB. PT8 should handle up to 4GB wav files tho.

Re: Elastic Audio//Xform//Whats REALLY happening?-- DigiTechSupport?
Basically it comes down to whether the region has been trimmed or not by the time you commit. If it hasn't been trimmed then the commiting process can't add handles (a couple of seconds of audio on...

This is true for any windows app. Try running IE for a while and do the same.

Re: Elastic Audio//Xform//Whats REALLY happening?-- DigiTechSupport?
When commiting XForm (or other rendered modes) if there is an existing rendered file it will not re-render. This being said, commiting will attempt to render in handles on either side of the region...

Re: delete rendered files elastic audio BUG!!!
The step that is leaving the rendered file is deleting the unused regions from the region bin. Close the session first before doing this and everything should be clean.

Re: delete rendered files elastic audio BUG!!!
If you rename the rendered files folder does opening the session give you the missing files window? If not you can delete the directory.
Without knowing what sort of editing steps and features...

Re: delete rendered files elastic audio BUG!!!
It won't delete the files until the session is closed. This is by design as these files are still essentially in the undo queue.

I think you are better off doing an Import Session data and importing all the SD2 tracks to a new session with copy and convert media on.

Re: Disk Cache is too small? Problems!
Hold down the Alt key and select None on any EA track. Thats your master toggle right there.
In the Processing Prefs disable "Enable Elastic on New Tracks" and it wont enable it by default.

FYI The Elastic audio TCE algorithm doesnt affect how elastic audio detects tempo. It only affects how it plays back.

Re: Help getting an ACID Pro 6 session into Pro Tools!
Yes - the fastest is to mute track by track and select "Render As" and export each track one by one.
If PT was on your PC you could do the record directly via re-wire in to PT.

Enable elastic audio, change your tracks to Tick Based and change the master tempo. Check the elastic demo on the digidesign site.
