Re: Isn\'t it unbelievable?

I have to tell you I think you are way off base on this.

I'm running PT7 on an old dual 1.42MHZ G4 Mac and rarely ever run into any kind of latency problems. And of course, as boxes keep getting...

Re: File names on right of screen

The easiest way to make these as easy to work with as possible is to make a habit of naming your tracks as soon as you create them. Otherwise it will be a confusing mess.

Re: What is with the \"Xpand\" shipping, Digi?

I paid $20 for second day air and I'm glad I did. I like Xpand a lot - great library, WAY easier than hooking Reason into my system, very easy to use. I almost bought MOTU MachFive a while back -...

Re: Didn\'t know what I was missing!

I used to use Reason but I just got the free Xpand RTAS sampler from Digidesign and I like it a lot (good sounds, plugs right in, great features). Get a copy of it before you fork out $400 for MOTU...

Re: Poor Performance in 7.0 Petition - Please Regi

Probably Reason.

I went from 3.0 to 3.04 using PT7.0 and it solved all of the CPU spike and HW buffer problems.

Re: Dual 1.42 GHz Power Mac G4 FW800 Where to buy?

I've got a dual G4 1.42 system running PT 7.0 and it screams. 1GB RAM with 2 100GB internal drives. I've been thinking about trading up to a new CPU - make me an offer and we'll see if we can do a...

Re: RE: Shopuld I get New PT 7 now or wait

IMHO, if your plugins are up to date you should go for it.

Initially I had a problem with Reason 3.0 - when I upgraded to 3.04 then 7.0 works really good.

At a minimum you should buy the...

Re: PT 7.0 Poor Performance - A Solution?

See my other post in the 7.0 performance petition thread.

I upgraded Reason from 3.0 to 3.04 and 7.0 is screaming for me.

Very happy here.

Re: Poor Performance in 7.0 Petition - Please Regi

GREAT news!

Upgraded from Reason 3.0 to Reason 3.04 and it appears to have solved all of the performance problems I was having with 7.0.

- No more random CPU usage spiking

- 6.9 sessions...

Re: Poor Performance in 7.0 Petition - Please Regi

Thanks for the idea - I'll upgrade to Reason 3.04 tomorrow and also try the import session data and post the results.

Re: weird CPU usage problem

Welcome to the club.

I'm using only Digirack plugs and the Pultec and DINR plugs that came with the upgrade and having the same spiking issue.

The only other thing I'm using is Reason 3.0 via...

Re: Poor Performance in 7.0 Petition - Please Regi

I like 7.0, but I am experiencing the same performance issues mentioned above. I can work around them for now, but I'm not happy about having to bump up the hardware buffer size and live with the...

Re: PTLE 7 - Optimized Plugin List

How about the DIGIrack plugins? Are they optimized? Where do I get them?

How about Reason via rewire?

Anyone know?

Re: PTLE 7 - RTAS on 2 CPUs Is Worse Than On 1 CPU

I'm only running the DIGIrack plugs. Do I need to upgrade these to get the performance gains?

I can't find any info on the download page about updating these. I assumed that when I ran the 7.0...

Re: PTLE 7 - RTAS on 2 CPUs Is Worse Than On 1 CPU!!

Ah yes...

Same problem here.

Low buffer size - runs in 6.9 but not on 7.0.

I found that when I bumped the buffer size up I had MUCH more headroom - could run about three times as many plugs....

Re: PT 7.0 Poor Performance - A Solution?

I have experienced the same thing.

With low HW buffer settings (128), I open a session that plays fine in 6.9 and it won't play in 7.0.

When I bump up the settings it works great and allows me...

Re: Which two PLUS plugins?

Is it worth getting Synchronic even though it doesn't come with the bundled 200MB of sound loops (they come in the boxed version only)?

Re: Maybe this site could help us get through to Digi

I came across this site too and made some requests for things I want to see. Seems like a cool way to make requests in a forum not moderated by Digi, and you can vote for what you want.

One thing...

Re: Cleaning up old recording

I asked the same thing a few weeks ago and got some good answers.

I'm using Waves Restoration and it works great to remove the old noise, clicks etc. Pricey to buy though ($1200).

My old...

Re: Powering up the 002 rack

This is a known power supply problem. Call DIGI and they will fed ex out what you need to fix the problem. Works like a charm from them on.

Re: Vocal Tracks

Make a copy of the track. Then shift/nudge the copy slightly forward - or - use a delay plugin.

Repeat with a second copy of the track.

Should give you a rich, full sound.

Re: Any problems with Pro Tools 6.1 crashing w/002-R?

Knock on wood, but I've been using the 002R with OS 10.2.6 - installed 6.1 when it first came out and haven't had a crash yet. Of course, I use the Mac pretty much as a dedicated machine for this so...

Re: The Digi 002R harness problem!!!

Don't worry about it Paolão - it will be fine. I was REALLY bummed when it happened to me, but it was a quick fix and I'm been having a blast since then.

Re: The Digi 002R harness problem!!!

Yes, everything is working fine for me. I was one of the original 002R customers with the problem. Since it was resolved it has worked great.
