Re: Using Zoom meeting and screen sharing PT audio

And Zoom users make sure you have the video muted or end up like a certain Mr. Toobin of CNN

Re: Pace/iLOK Authorization Shuts PT

Whatever but I still say you're whistling past the graveyard. No internet connection is rock solid. Period.

Re: Pace/iLOK Authorization Shuts PT

You're whistling past the graveyard if you think the 'cloud' is the way to go especially with something as critical as one's iLok if you want to keep working. I'd rather not have a session grind to a...

Re: Waves V12 say goodbye to Mac Pro 2012 and earlier.

Turns out the issue is not having a Metal compatible video card - this according to Waves support. Stock 2012's don't have one. Apparently those who have switched their video cards so they can run...

Re: Pace/iLOK Authorization Shuts PT

This thread goes to show that anything in the Cloud is not reliable. Get a physical iLok along with the $30/year ZDT and you'll thank me.

Re: Plugin Updates - Please Post Here!

Thanks for the reply. So it does come down to having a Metal compatible video card then. Waves should have been more forthcoming with this. Would have saved a LOT of time for people.

Re: Plugin Updates - Please Post Here!

If you look at the thread I linked to you'll find that someone who got in touch with Waves tech support said it was due to 5,1's not having Metal support in their video cards. I'm calling bullcrap on...

Re: Plugin Updates - Please Post Here!

How are you not having problems? All the v12 gui's are blank on a 5,1 cheesegrater. Even Waves themselves says 1 2012 5,1 MacPro is not compatible with v12. Combine that with the thing that Waves...

Re: mouse moves

I was a big fan of these. Wore out the first one after about 5 years and got a second one. Then I started developing carpal tunnel in my right hand and tried using it left-handed. That didn't work...

Re: Plugin Updates - Please Post Here!

Like my wife was at ours - our lawyer said she's worse than a lawyer.

I don't think it's that simple.
I wonder what the real reason is for them doing this. There has to be a technical reason....

Re: Plugin Updates - Please Post Here!

It's the firsts line in the 'Exceptions and Notes':
"MacPro 2012 or earlier models are not supported."

I did the update and the ones that updated to v12 had blank guis. Fortunately I was able...

Re: Licensing question

Amen to ZDT (Zero Downtime) insurance - it's the best $30 US you will ever spend. Don't forget the free TLC (theft & loss coverage) for if you lose your iLok.

Re: PT ran out of CPU power. AAE-9173

I used everything exactly like on the linked-to page earlier. mv and not cp All entered manually.
update:
Seems like third time's the charm. Spindump stayed off after the reboot to re-enable SIP....

Re: WTF is this guy on about??? Soooo tired of this

Allow me to disagree with the above. While musical knowledge would be great to have don't let it be the be all/end all. Take Lindsey Buckingham - self-taught on guitar and look what he's created. You...

Re: PT ran out of CPU power. AAE-9173

Update:
After going through all the above to disable spindump and tailspin when I booted up this morning I find that spindump and spindumpagent are running

Luckily I can shut them down...

Re: PT ran out of CPU power. AAE-9173

Thanks for the help. Manually entering the commands worked. I was using copy/paste from TextEdit and not a shell script. So you were right about possible bad characters.

Re: "Not valid 64 bit AAX plug-ins" - almost all 3rd party plugins suddenly corrupt

Mojave is pretty strict about the 64 bit issue. Actually started with High Sierra although it wasn't as bad there. Don't blame Apple or Avid for this - it's on the plugin developers as they knew...

Re: PT ran out of CPU power. AAE-9173

I don't think I've had more than a very small handful amount of 9173 errors since I started with PT10 and the systems in my profile page. PT won't just throw a 9173 on it's own - you have to be doing...

Gee thanks - I'm just trying to help. I just listed what he'll see when he opens that line. Never said he had to download everything there nor even intimated that.
