Re: ProTools with OSX-- Are we going backwards??

Re: Compressed Drum Submix in Protools.

I haven't used ADC yet, but I assumed with it, using an outboard box would be the same as it is with an analog mixer.

If you want to get picky and include the actual delay of the outboard box, I...

Re: Updating OS X

CCC works well for reverting back to your last OS.

FYI: there were reports of the 10.3.7 update erasing FW drives. (that’s why I unplug!)

Generally speaking... updating an already “healthy”...

Re: Updating OS X

For a any OS X update - I’d suggest these 5 steps:

1 Unplug FW drives

2 Run a disc utility (I like Disc Warrior)

3 Repair permissions

4 Install update

You guys are too much...

If you have a problem with your system, ask questions, that's what this forum is about. If you just want to use this place for bitching about Apple, Digi... whatever else...

Re: ProTools with OSX-- Are we going backwards??

I know you’re not alone - I can read. Like I said... if OSX was a faulty OS (like you claimed), nobody’s system would work properly - right? That was my point.

Have you done an Erase & Install?

Re: UPDATED READ AGAIN the original....

The transfer policy in the original sale agreement should be all you’re responsible for.

What you need to know is if that original agreement gave Waves the right change the transfer policy.

Re: OS XTC!

User forums represent only a small fraction of total users. If all these problems were really due to a faulty OS, they would occur on every system (and they don’t). Lot's of people had OS9 issues...

Re: Anyone have the guts to install OSX 10.3.8

fwiw: 10.3.8 is cool on my Dual 2G G5.

PS: It’s best to repair permissions before (and after) OS updates.

Re: PT Install on Mac (for maximum stability)

When I got my G5 D2G, I did an erase and install (english only / no print drivers), just to save some space. I used the software updater to get current, and then installed PT. That’s it - no problems...
