Having them sing while inhaling instead of exhaling will eliminate the need for a screen altogether. Then you can even take the screen off the microphone and really get that...

In general it's highly recommended to use a separate hard drive for sample libraries. System drive, audio drive, and samples drive is a pretty basic setup.

Just a side note - Connectors have characteristic impedance also, not just cables. You just don't hear about it much. But you can buy for instance 75 or 52 ohm BNC, Different impedance F connectors,...
