Thanks! That column was hidden in the iLok Manager.

Problem solved.

Which System ID belongs to which computer?

Hi,

I've got four perpetual PT Ultimate license on an update plan in my Avid account. The plan renewal dates are staggered and need to be renewed at different times of the year.

The problem:...

Re: Audio 360 Video Player not seeing PT as DAW connection

I'm pretty sure that was the setup. I got it to work by updating my FB360 suite from 2.2.1 to 3.3.0 in Avid Application Manager. The video link is handled differently and it worked straight away.

Audio 360 Video Player not seeing PT as DAW connection

Hi,

I'm trying to get ahead of my clients by nailing down 360 video workflows before I have a project with a deadline. Good thing, since things are not going smoothly.

I can load the FB360...

Re: DNX36 HD 23.976 QT Files will they play in PT9HD?

I'm not sure if the codecs are included somewhere in the PT9 material, but they can be found here: http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=372311

You have the Meridian's,...

Re: Levels for Canadian Commercials?

Most specs for Canadian broadcasters are very similar to the specs of US broadcasters. Ask the specs from the broadcasters, but there isn't any legislation that would affect your output compared to a...

Re: UI freeze every minute.

Have you tried removing your network interface from the list in the Network system preference pane and creating a new one? I once cured a similar problem that way. Also, MacPro's have two ethernet...

Re: Is Thunderbolt the end of PCIe cards?

I for one am no longer looking forward to any upcoming announcements on new PCIe cards. I'd heard vague rumours on future developments that seemed insane at the time, but the Intel press release made...

Re: How to stop Pro Tools from accessing an Audio Files folder?

I think you're referring to making a folder or set of files invisible? If so, there's a complete tutorial here:
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-10344207-263.html

I don't think that would...

Re: 6-core (3.33GHz) or 2 quad-core (2.4GHz) Westmere

Hi,

Real-life MacPro benchmarks are very hard to come by, so it's always hard to determine how much we'll gain with a given Mac. There are artificial benchmarks, though, and Primatelabs compiles...

Re: M-audio Axiom as protools transport

Hi Ariel,

I sent this to a friend to set his Axiom up a week or so ago.

I haven't heard from him since, so it must've worked OK. He's on a native...

Re: Streaming Pro Tools

Source Live works great and is more "pro" than Nicecast, in that you have better control over who can listen in with passwords and such. IIRC, Nicecast only lets you broadcast on an open server and...

Re: FYI love my SSD for System drive

There isn't much reason to keep your home folder off the SSD, really. Yes, SSD's suffer from block rewrite penalties, even with the systems put in place in newer drives, but that will cause...

Re: MacPro Firewire. Only oen buss?

Not only do Mac towers only have one FW header, it is used by both FW400 and FW800. That means that if you have a FW800 device plugged into one port and plug a FW400 device into the second one, both...

Re: Frequency suitable for TV

If you want to know how your mix sounds on a TV, set up a TV in the control room and find out. It's cheap and easy. You should never do any mixing specific to a format you can't listen back to,...

Re: Buffalo FW800 drives crash Westmere

Do you have any other FW device plugged in when you try this? If so, try removing them to eliminate the possibility of a conflict on the FW buss.

If the problem persists, the next thing I'd try...

Re: Can I use up to a 2 TB internal Hard drive?

There seems to be some confusion in this thread over SATA revisions. Any SATA device will work with any SATA interface, whatever revision any of the two devices follow. SATA is completely backwards-...

Re: re Processor Speeds vs number of Cores

Multithreading and multiple-core support are two distinct things. Multithreading is meant to maximize the utilisation of a single core. Each core in a multiple-core system supports multithreading,...

Re: Recording Hard Drive

The SATA inside G5's is SATA-1.5G (SATA-I). The later revisions are SATA-3G (SATA-II) and SATA-6G. Every SATA standard is backwards-compatible on both the drive and interface end, so you should be...

Re: Computer freezes completely

Have you DiskWarrior'ed your system drive? That'd be my next move.

If that doesn't solve it, I'd look at the RAM and start removing one bar at a time to see if the crash still comes. I've seen...

Re: SATA2 okay?

You should have no problem at all. The worst that can happen is that your computer's interface will not use the full speed of the disk interface. It will run at the same speed your current drive does...

Re: RAID safest magnetic medium for Long Term Archiving?

I'd go for a combination of storage to be on the safe side for such prolonged archiving.

With optical media being so cheap, it's almost a no-brainer to make a copy to DVD or BD-R. I'm personally...
