Re: Powered Speakers Gone Bad

Hi Joel,

Did that, switching the speakers.

I've heard about capacitors going bad in other speakers causing hum, but I'm not an electrician and don't really know what the possibilities are for...

Re: Powered Speakers Gone Bad

Hi Ben. Thanks for the response.

Basically, for a long time, the speakers have just seemed to have a different tonality, like different EQ curves.

So I positioned the speakers on the table in...

Powered Speakers Gone Bad

Hi Everyone,
I'm pretty sure that my powered Event PS6's have gone bad. I did a frequency check using Logic's sine wave plugin and checked the frequency production and in some areas the two were...

Re: Waves Plugins

Thanks for the replies Sunburst and NST.

Unfortunately, for the next couple of months, I'm not really going to have much time to spend in front of my home computer demoing things. I'm going to be...

Waves Plugins

Hi everyone.

I just would like to know peoples opinions on which way to spend my bucks (or even if I should).

This month Waves is having a big sale. I'm a current Platinum owner and have really...

Re: Using an external SSD

So basically some of you think that running samples off an SSD card in a firewire enclosure would be worse than running samples off the 5,400 RPM hard disk?

Replacing the optical drive is out of...

Using an external SSD

Hi DUC,

I just wanted to know that people think about this idea and if anyone is actually doing it.

I'm thinking of putting my sound files for Battery and my piano sampler on an external drive...

Using two Converters

I've been using PT9 for about 1 1/2 months now and will post some of my results in the near future. But I have a question.

I tried to use PT9 with two AD interfaces, a Rosetta 800 W/firewire card...

Black Lion Mods

I know a lot of people here say the mods are incredible sounding, but I want to ask about reliability. Has many of you had any problems with BL mods, needing to return them?

Re: Apogee 800 Rosetta with X-Firewire card

Just had my first bit of trouble. Starting a new version of Silent Night (like we really need another version of that song) in 96K, tried to change a setting in Xpand, the PT screen disappeared and...

Re: Apogee 800 Rosetta with X-Firewire card

I was looking at that for myself, too, but going that route just takes too much money and I just bought my iMac.

Re: Monitoring through Rosetta vs Monitoring through 003

What are you plugging the units into. If I plugged my units into something like a Mackie mixer then to the amp and speakers I probably would hear a small difference because the Mackie would impart...

Re: Apogee 800 Rosetta with X-Firewire card

Hmmmmm, you want my Rosetta, ehhhhh. Well, maybe I could part with my 002R, but my Rosetta? I just bought the X-Firewire thingy and went through the trouble of getting everything set up and all. I...

Re: V9 Compatibility

GTB, I guess you don't have a Pro Tools system yet. One thing that I think we all have gotten used to is the fact that Avid will ALWAYS be behind Apple. Actually, I think this is Apples fault. Every...

Mbox Pro and Syncing at 96K

If I remember correctly, the Mbox Pro (blue model) will sync with an external source (mbox being the slave) up to 48K but not above. At 88.2K and 96K the Mbox HAD to be the master. Was that a...

Re: Apogee 800 Rosetta with X-Firewire card

Well, I took a chance and got PT9. First tried it with just the iMac in/out, then tried the Rosetta. So far so good. I haven't recorded anything yet, just played with some soft synths and then played...

Re: Apogee 800 Rosetta with X-Firewire card

Pops and clicks, not good. Did you do a clean re-install of your system? Are you using the latest OSX?

I've heard a few other people are using Ensembles and getting good results.

Apogee 800 Rosetta with X-Firewire card

Just asking about how PT9 and the Rosetta 800 with the X-Firewire card is holding up so far? How's stability, track counts, plugin usage, etc?

Thanks

Multiple Interfaces

I know it's a bit early on with PT9 but I was wondering if anyone has tried using more than one interface at the same time.

Just curious.

PT8 with Logic and other stuff

I'd just like to hear from Pro Tools/Logic users about their experiences with PT8. Especially, is Logic behaving pretty well with Pro Tools hardware using Core Audio, any issues, etc?

Thanks people
