Hmm - sounds like the obvious, incompatibility with Mavericks 10.9.2.

If you have a TM backup pre 10.9.2, I'd roll back.

I done the same upgrade transition a few months ago. When you purchase the crossgrade to 11, you get both the 10 and 11 installers. You can install either one, or install them both. It's entirely up...

I believe Pro Tools backs up your session...

I believe Pro Tools backs up your session periodically when you're working. To add, you should have your sessions on an external and not the system drive.
