Re: The funniest thing that happened to you while working along a PT session with a clien

Congratulations on the big win, Alecio.
I'm pretty happy about Team USA though.
You may need to watch out for them in
the coming years! images/icons/cool.gif

Re: The funniest thing that happened to you while working along a PT session with a clien

I've lost count of how many times I've played
the same take twice back-to-back and had
the client say "I like the second (or first) one
better!" Or, the client will ask for a slight change in...

Re: The funniest thing that happened to you while working along a PT session with a clien

About 9 years ago, when I was just starting out as an intern/assistant, a major
ad agency was in doing a radio spot for a
major long distance carrier-I'll call them XYZ
Corp. Everyone and his...

Re: Seeking groovy place for relocation

It was already mentioned but I'll put in another
plug for Lambertville, NJ/New Hope, PA (they
are across the Delaware River from each other). Also check out Frenchtown, NJ (also
on the Delaware...

Goodbye John Entwistle, we\'ll miss you!

My favorite bass player of all time.

It's a sad day. I Can't Explain how devastated
I am! images/icons/frown.gif

Re: Problem when boucing sounds less than 1 second

Select the region you want to bounce, and
use the "Duplicate" Audio Suite plug in. This
will give you a new file that's a copy of the
original region-the same as bouncing.

Re: Still nowhere

I also paid a visit to Mixerman's PSW forum
in the midst of the (still ongoing) is-PTHD-deficient-in-the-low-end debate
(parachuted in behind enemy lines under
cover of darkness, if you will).
I...

Re: Still nowhere

Terry,

Don't take rejection personally. Remember
that you have chosen to try to make it in an
extremely difficult field. It's made all the more
difficult by the subjective standards by which...

Re: 9.2 Best Mac OS ever? (wanna hear the latest...)

Apparently, if you have a new "Quicksilver" G4 you can leave OSX on, but you have to boot in OS 9.x. You can't use Classic mode. I think
having OSX is only a problem with older G4's.

Also, let's not forget the state of the recording
and video/film industry in general, which are
in turn affected by the record, advertising, and
film industries. I work in advertising, and

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I don't know what Avid's market capitalization is but I'm quite sure that it's definitely in the
"small cap" category, so a sell-off of, say, 100,000 shares is...

Re: Recording Loud Gospel Choir

Ditto to the stereo pair suggestions. Keep it
simple. I actually prefer the ORTF (or is it NOS?) format which has the mics in cardioid,
about a foot apart, and turned 90 degrees
from each other....

Re: Your comments on Star Wars Sound Design on Attack of the Clones

OK, just saw it yesterday and here's my take.
Overall, I enjoyed it much more than "The Phantom Menace", but I don't think either one
is quite as good as the ones in the original trilogy. Don't get...

Re: Your comments on Star Wars Sound Design on Attack of the Clones

Please, no spoilers for those (like me) who haven't seen it yet!

I will say that I was disappointed in the sound
design for the "Ben Hur"-ish pod race in "The Phantom Menace". It just sounded...

Re: clicks and pops

You could also bus the output of your edited
track to a new track and record it. The "rendered" audio will then have the auto-fades
in it.
