Have you tried Deleting Pro Tools Databases and Preferences (http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Troubleshooting/en423791#Deleting_Databases_and_Preferences)

I have successfully installed PT10 on my Windows 8 test system.
Try setting the setup.exe file into XP compatibility. Install PT. After finishing, set PT (not the shortcut) also the same (XP...

Thought it wouldn't go below 128 samples. But 64 is good for recordings, glad they've changed it.

I'm using the Lightbridge and the SSL Alphalink (24 I/O).
It definitely improved my sound, coming from the M-Audio Delta1010lt cards.
But you still need your well trained ears and a acoustically...

I wouldn't use Vista if I were you.
And the only one I will use for my main DAW is XP Pro (client PC).
So I would buy a new PC, and get it with W7 x64 and get a copy of XP Pro. Make a dual booth...

Looks like an external device is controlling the clock. And it's not set to 44.1kHz.

One big advantage to me is that you can use any high-end AD/DA converter or pre-amp that uses ADAT for all 18 I/O's with MP, and just use a M-Audio device as a dongle. And still use the AD/DA...

Thought that you didn't have to register Protools MP, only LE.

Mine doesn't.:confused: Cause I have to change it manually in the M-Audio control panel. But PT locks it, so I have to quit PT.

OK, I'm launching PT in 44.1kHz, after it has launched I need to change it to 48kHz for some reason I just describes in my previous post. I can do this...

I get a lot of sessions that's recorded in different samplerates, like most of us here that really does music.
Sometimes I launch PT in 44.1kHz (the wrong samplerate), want to open a session...

Why is it that I can't change the samplerate while Protools is running. Can't do this in the M-Audio control window or in PT.
But on my Mac I can change it while PT is running.

I did a test last year and I ended up with 10 tracks that recorded simultaneously at 96kHz. But I'm not sure anymore, it's been a while.
I can check this later on this week (need some free time...
