im using a couple samsung sata drives with no problems. samsungs are generally regarded to be the quietest drives, dunno if that matters to you but a loud, whining hard drive can be really annoying....

i am not sure if that board will work because it is SIS chipset. you should just get the a8v mentioned earlier and save yourself a lot of hassle. not every amd board will work.

the latest PTLE that will work with the 001 is 6.4.

just so you know, the a8v-e with the k8t890 doesnt support AMD X2 processors.

I bought it off ebay. I searched alot of online stores and no one was carrying it. I got the AGP version, I probably paid a bit too much for it, but its worth it knowing it will work with my 001.

im also looking for a new S939 motherboard for my digi 001 (eventaully moving to a 002). The only a8v i can find is a8v-mx. something with AGP would be nice.
