Re: do i need to use a master fader?

Participating in the loudness race is a no win situation for a small scale studio. You should leave that for the mastering pro's who have the experience and the gear. For demos its another game, give...

Re: OT DID ANYONE SEE GNR?

MTV awards? Who cares about that?
I personally don't think there's anything wrong with MTV. Its a commercial station and as such they don't have any obligations other than earning money. So if...

Re: nuendo vs. pro tools

Maybe i didn't state it clearly, but i'll gladly say it with other words: The RTAS plugins are in general waaay better than the VST plugins.
That, and the 001 ability to transfer sessions to TDM...

Re: nuendo vs. pro tools

I don't know if the $1299 nuendo comes with the (RME) 8ch A/D/A converter. If it does, i think its a pretty cool deal.
We recorded our last CD on Nuendo at a friends studio. While i wasn't that...

Ideas for new RTAS plugins

I think that there are a lot of good useable plugins out there. But there is always room for more flavours, so lets try to give those plugin developers some ideas for new products.

I would like to add that there has always been limitations in recording. These days the limits have really been pushed as far as quality in home/semi pro recording goes. Hey, you don't have to pay...

Re: How do I create a drum sub mix?

Ok, i will try that, thanks Ben.
But in 44.1 you'll need 44 samples delay to have 1ms, the resulting phase problems would be the equal to moving your OH (and room) mics 1 feet closer to the kit...

Re: Witch is better for metal guitar sound

Amp farm vs Sans amp= Marshall vs Boogie?

I personally prefer the amp farm to the sans amp plugins. It won't really sound as good as a real amp set up but for what it is, its a pretty good tool.

Re: Marshall amp power reduction

Or build an isolation box. If it can take out 20-30 dB of the volume you'll have an acceptable volume.
