Re: OK, I don\'t understand this one. 6db to 10db louder....H

Perhaps he means RMS loudness?
It makes no sense to me either that Logic should produce a louder (or hotter) mix than Pro Tools.

M2E, are you actually clipping your master bus in Logic? Is that...

Re: FREEZE FUNCTION!!!

What a weird way of printing tracks! What's the point of printing to the same track? Why not use a spare one and get around this feedback craziness? Personally, when I see feedback occuring, I...

Re: Macros

Thanks JC. Shame there's no way of doing this in Pro Tools, though.

Macros

I thought I read somewhere that you can create macros in Pro Tools, but I just can't find any mention of it anymore. So can you record macros?

Re: Sync.....

Big Ben is a master house clock - it is not a sync device. It makes no sense using more then one sync device. There will be one master sync device, other devices will slave to it.

Re: What\'s the quickest way to audition looped takes?

What's wrong in pointing out how Pro Tools can get better? I'm pretty sure there is no decent way of handling alternate takes in Pro Tools, and I just wish to present a better way of doing this. No...

Re: What\'s the quickest way to audition looped takes?

Looped recording is so much better in Nuendo. You get each cycle vertically stacked on top of each other, and you can auditon each one, edit, take the best part from each take and consolidate...

Re: \"Waiting Sync Point\" trying to chase time code?

I remember having a similar problem with Pro Tools 6.9. I was trying to slave Pro Tools to MTC, and I was getting a similar "waiting for sync point" message. And I only had this problem while trying...

Re: PT 7.4 Total Failure

Reinstall your OS. If that doesn't fix it, then it's a hardware problem. Or, before you do a clean installation of Mac OS, you might try detaching all the hardware, except your digidesign cards and...

Re: bounce to disk problem

Maybe the file is hidden for some reason? If you are familiar with Mac's Terminal, try listing the directory contents from there ('ls -a' is the command I think). Or install a program called Disk...

Re: Digital Clicks

Word clock problems? If everything's set correctly (master and slaves), then maybe you could try replacing the clock cables. Use quality cables designed for the purpose. But it might be worth...

Re: Using ADC while recording - any issues?

Good question. If everything's good while recording, why can't PT just shift the recorded track 68ms later (in Steve's example)?

Re: Dumb Tab To Transient Question

After you have tabbed to transient, try using `P` and `;` keys to move up or down through your tracks. When you reach your MIDI track hit paste. Make sure command focus is on.

Re: slipping audio within a region - can\'t remember the modi

I never figured out a use for this function... Mat, what are you using this for?
As for the keyboard shortcuts - it's hard to remember them all, but there's a good, well organized collection od key...

Re: Save Copy In

Thanks Chris, this is pretty much what I expected, but I had to check first. Although, I must say that I really can't see much use for the "copy all audio files" checkbox. Well of course I want to...

Imagine: Regions Exposé

One thing that annoys me the most in Pro Tools is how regions are managed within the timeline. Regularly I’m loosing track of my takes, because they’re being permanently replaced by new ones (and I’m...

Re: Cannot create new session - get (-5000) error

Maybe you should try and locate the IO settings file, and check the permissions on this file. Or create new sessions with new IO settings (instead of using "last used" settings)...

Re: Cannot create new session - get (-5000) error

You should probably run disk utility and repair permissions. It's suggested that you shoul run this utility after every software change.

Re: i-lok- Leave it on or turn it off?

So, you can MOVE your licences from one iLok to another, but cannot make a backup? I really need to read the terms carefully and check the backup options. Then there's this Zero downtime option,...
