surprisingly, no, i have rubber spacers between the case and the fans, and yeah, that helps with noise. i'd say the noisiest part of the computer is the power supply.

The controller for SATA is on the motherboard. There should be 4 little connection ports on the MOBO for the SATA cables. you also need a power adapter to get power to run the drives. ...

as a fellow newbie...the general consensus here at the DUC is the "allenstein machine" which is in the forum "best desktops for PTLE" It's basically an AMD 64 3400+ with all the goodies...supposedly...

All the stores like Guitar Center say MAC but the people in the PC...
