Re: @Bob Olhsson...Caught Ya!

...one of the things I've enjoyed over my years on the DUC is realizing how many people who are "names" in the business lurking on here, most of them anonymous or semi-anonymous. I can't...

Re: Help...Recording spoken words

A couple of years ago there was a "behind-the-scenes" episode of Dirty Jobs. One of the scenes was the host Mike Rowe sitting on a bed with the covers over him as a tent while he was recording some...

Re: Some plugins don't show up in Audiosuite

Arrun, keep in mind that even if a plugin creates the same effect what's under the hood can be totally different.

Re: Using Vocal Tuners

to further answer your question Scrnplyr, I mostly use it for touching up. I have done a couple of projects where the goal was to totally mangle the audio, but for the most part I've used it for...

Re: Using Vocal Tuners

I just have to chime in on Melodyne. I've used it on much more than vocals (lead guitar, bass, etc.), and used right it is very transparent. If you want a tuning program that no one will know you've...

Re: Processing the modern lead vocal

IMO it is done quite on purpose, to the point of it being a defining part of the genre. You could take the same song, pretty much the same performance, and mix it a different way for each market.

For the most part the moderators I've seen have already been considered respected members of the DUC. And most importantly they have seen some of the CLASSIC DUC meltdowns (some of which will live on...

Re: Big gang vocals how to!

Craig and PT's suggestions are both good ones. Also remember to do a few takes where no one cares about singing in key. Part of a crowd singing is the disonance of crappy singers!!! :D:p:D
