I think you need to capture the QT it using the DV codec. I'm bot exactly sure but there are many strings available on the topic in the post and surround forum.

but when I save the new session from the template and re-launch it for my next session what are the odds that ruler will be in ABS time? pretty @#$@ near 100% I bet.

drop frame timecode is a way of keeping clock on the wall time (ABS time if you will) in sync with time code. it is useful for broadcasters who only care about an hour being an hour and not a hour+3...

i was having the same problem with 002r. I messed around with sp/dif RCAs and bang!! in was gone!
