What happens when you record arm a track using your Mac's audio hardware? i.e. built-in or PT aggregate I/O. Same behavior?

Hi Wes,

Had this with a HDN system, iMac i7. We'd upgraded the RAM, ended up re-installing the RAM that shipped with the machine and this resolved the issue. Have you upgraded the RAM?

If you engage the Avid Video engine with your system usage window open, keep an eye on the memory bar at the bottom and watch it drive up to 95 -100% if you're running 4GB RAM, I bet you're right on...

The latest supported OS for Pro Tools HD8 is Snow Leopard (upto 10.6.8). You are on Lion (10.7.3).

Got that exact dialogue when I had a faulty digilink cable, the interface would disapear, white noise then that message. Do you have another you could try?

HDX will support up to 64I/O via Core Audio. AAX DSP will only work with Tools though.

I Had this same problem. For me holding N during launch and changing the playback engine to built in audio allowed me to get through, then reverted back to HD Native and been fine since. Hope this...
