I have the G 733Mhz Mac with the CD/DVD-R superdrive but when I pop in a DVD-R to back up a song it says the DVD is locked? Anybody know how to get around this?

Things have been great using my RME ADI-8 PRO into the Digi001 with lightpip. I plug it and some other gear into a Furman A-1215 AC line voltage regulator. Recently I've been getting clicks and pops...

Palmer PGA-04 (DI for guitar AMP)
I just thought I'd share my experience.
I spend all day recording two Sadowsky electric guitars through Soldano SLO-100 and X99 with the Palmer PGA-04. It is wonderful. Basically, I played with...

Re: Improving the sound of a Digi001 - Preamp / ADDA
I reall like my RME ADI 8 PRO. Phenominal sound with 8 I/O. Take your time and save up for really good mic pres. I plan to get Vintech or Brent Averill Neve.
The DA improvement is nice but not...

Re: ADI-8 PRO - transfer to Digi001 over ADAT and Clock issues
I have the RME ADI -8 PRO and it works great with Digi001 PT LE. I use the RME clock as the maser.
BTW, I've read the Peavey mic pre is very good. Judge for yourself.

How do you run your mic into the Sansamp or Mooger Fooger? Aren't they for guitars or keyboards? Isn't there a huge impedance difference?

Re: Bass Pre-amps
For a simple incredible DI consider the Sadowsky outboard preamp. www.sadowsky.com (http://www.sadowsky.com) Probably the simplest and most elegant way to go; it sounds killer. I have the on-board...

Re: Bass Pre-amps
Kern IP-777 preamp has a DI. It is a phenomenal high end piece that costs about $690. Make sure you order it with the built-in power supply and ground lift which Henry Kern will do at no extra...

Johhn,
If you like the RME then why are you getting the Lucid instead of another RME with ADAT I/O for much less money?

There was a thread about this on another Digi forum, I think General Information. Do a search. I got mine from SFB in Netherlands for around $1025. or so. This includes shipping to Florida.

Re: back up solutions using cdr?
This is why I went for the 733Mhz Mac w/ CD/DVD-R. You can store many Gb (not Mb) on a DVD but the process is slow. Plan a recreational activity while waiting for DVD to write.

Without a speaker cab interacting with the guitar you are correct: it just ain't gonna' scream and wail. But with the Palmer or POD you have outputs going to the cab which allows sympathetic...
