Re: Studio build?
Hmmm, that's tight, but does seem about the same as my old CR and drum room. You might consider making it a 1-room setup as 1 large room might be better than 2 rooms that are too small. Going back to...

Re: Delay Compensation and HW Buffer issues
Indeed, assuming you are NOT running HDX, if your computer can't track at a 64 buffer, then your computer is either under-spec'd or has some big issues. When I had my commercial studio in Nashville,...

Re: Hide folders but not tracks
That is a shortcoming of things as they are now. A better bet would likely be to leave folder tracks out of your template and add them later, or use the tried and true Bus>Aux method that doesn't...

Re: Studio build?
Shockingly, it was decent and I never had an issue. I did a few things to get the best sounding drums I could(good enough, is never good enough:D). Knowing the room wasn't great, I never bothered...

Re: Pro Tools First and clip gain functionality
Using the Audiosuite GAIN plugin is how I did this before we got CLIP GAIN. Having said that, I would also suggest you buy the "real" version of Pro Tools. While you probably don't need "Ultimate",...

Hmmm, I happen to agree and that's because the most accurate listening spot is 38% away from the front wall(maybe more "correct" to call that spot the "least messed up":D). Putting the desk at the...

If you show playlists, then you can click-drag across(from the end, all the way back to zero) and consolidate so that each playlist is a single audio file. With them all selected(highlighted),open...

Re: Protools 8 mpowered registration ? Help
This is not likely to help much as version 8 won't work on any current OS(Mac or PC), nor will the older key-shaped iLok. If you need Pro Tools on a current computer, get PT First(for free) or buy a...

Re: Can I edit midi notes in the Tracks window?
It depends on how you like to work. For me, I almost never open the MIDI editor and do everything directly on the INSTRUMENT track in notes view. Remember that you can also add lanes so its easy to...

As far as I can figure, everything is working as expected. I would never attempt to track with a buffer setting higher than 64, and I ALWAYS make sure that there are no high-latency plugins active...

Re: Pro tools 10 CPU 90/100 % , What's wrong?
BTW, expecting "better performance" is wishful thinking as you are killing your own performance by running an old 32 bit program(Pro Tools 10) on a slick new 64 bit machine. The old software can't...

This probably belongs in the Getting Started section. Having said that, you're likely doing it wrong. You record a mono source to a mono audio track and a stereo source to a stereo audio track. Of...

Re: Install Pro Tools Correctly On New Mac Mini
Requirements or not, I still prefer to keep things separate. It helps when it comes to backups and restoration, and for me, it helps me keep things lean and efficient. Of course, YMMV:o

Not sure if this will help, but its still good to know:
1-the hardware MUST have a solid earth ground for the faders to function correctly, so check your power cabling(you can't cut the ground pin...

Re: After 15 years, need an upgrade
Firewire is going the way of the dodo, so I would not invest another dime on that(and if you have FW drives, by all means, copy everything onto modern USB3/USBc or Thunderbolt drives(for working)....
