I use Auratone speakers. They're useful for every mono monitoring. Can't say if you'll able to find them new, maybe a used pair ( but you only need one)

iDVD should be on your Jaguar's cd (if you use Os X, obviously). Launch Software Restore, then choose iDVD. It's free and it should be good enough for your purposes. Be sure you have enough free...

If you have another Mac, you could connect them using Firewire. Connect the computers with a FW cable then restart one of them holding "T". Speedy transfer, it works great
