Just series 500 pres, EQ and dynamics.

However, is anyone doing the entire channel strip thing including sends, etc?

I guest I am dreaming of building a full functioning console around series...

Re: Midas M32 inserting Series 500 Pres

Why would the M32 serve no purpose if using the Aurora? I understand that the Aurora is line input only but something has to feed the line inputs?

Please clarify.
Thx,
Billy

Custom console using series 500 modules?

Who is running a custom series 500 console as a front end for PT?

Building DIY 500 kits? Preferred brand?

Seventh Circle Audio looks good but not series 500. BUT could arrange on a vertical...

Midas M32 inserting Series 500 Pres

If one inserts a top drawer mic pre into the M32, would the signal degrade much since the Midas pres were by-passed?

Would the M32 make an excellent recording console for summing and monitoring if...

Re: Using Artist Control with Artist Transport?

That's how I currently have it laid out: (L) Mix + Mix + Control + Transport (R).

Also will place LogicKeyboard ProTool (Thin) + Kensington Expert Trackball either over or under the Control and...

Using Artist Control with Artist Transport?

Hello All,

Are there advantages to using a Transport along with the Control? What might they be? I understand there are very similar in function but I have seen where some use both. For example,...

Re: Why is my track count (with no pops or clicks) so low?

Yea, I agree SCSI is dead as serial scsi (SAS) effectly replaced it. What SATA3 HDs are seeing the most these days?

Re: Why is my track count (with no pops or clicks) so low?

Brad, I assume that was straight recording with no re-wind, scrubbing and editing. But, you are saying that a good SATA HD w/ PT can typically support 80 tracks simultaneously? I have never been able...

Re: Why is my track count (with no pops or clicks) so low?

BTW: How are today's world-class PT studios handling track count? What storage systems are they employing these days? Surely external 1394 is for archival use only, and not real-time capture of music...

Re: Why is my track count (with no pops or clicks) so low?

Hello Brad, How are things going these days? I hope great!

Because of my engineering background, I usually tend to ask why? So, does PT actually see the RAID controller or does it look a standard...

Re: Why is my track count (with no pops or clicks) so low?

RAID 0 and 0+1 are widely used in the video capture and editing, so it would seem logical for audio. BUT, I do agree that SATA3 7200/32Mb cache HDs are fast enough for huge track counts! I wonder if...

Re: Change SR on an existing session?

Top Jimmy,

You might be correct. I will do it all again. Understand though, that the AES16e is the clock master and the Aurora16 is slaved to the AES16 by selecting AES A clock source. The Mackie...

Why is my track count (with no pops or clicks) so low?

Hello All,

For background:

I am running a ASUSTeK Computer INC. M4A79T Deluxe (AM3), AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2GHz Deneb 45nm Technology CPU, 8.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 535MHz (8-8-8-20) RAM,...

Re: Change SR on an existing session?

By design, ADAT s/mux uses 2 ADAT channels at 48KHz to achieve 96KHz. Example if recording ADAT signals at 96KHz (often referred to as 48x2), the number of available channels are cut by half.

My...

Re: Change SR on an existing session?

I'm from a Nuendo background and I think you allowed to change SR IF you were not in play or record mode. The reason I asked this was that the initial recordings were done on a ADAT multitrack @...

Are ya'll...

Change SR on an existing session?

This may be JR question, but how do you change the SR on an existing PT9.0.6 session? I 'recorded in' a live mix off of my Mackie SDR2496 ADAT multi-track which was tracked at 24/96 (48x2). I used my...

I also plan on 2 Artist Mixes and 1 Controller. Why do you also have a Transport? Are you doing video? Are there advantages on having both a Controller and a Transport?
