Re: HEAT (Harmonically enhanced Algorithm Technology)

So we should upgrade (ahem - side-grade) our cards now only to have them replaced in a few months?

That's your suggestion?

We're dinosaurs with our old G5s but we should be suckered twice?

Re: HEAT (Harmonically enhanced Algorithm Technology)

But you're ignoring what I'm saying. Avid is NOT a software company. They are a hardware company. So they should extend their software support for their hardware users. Otherwise those users may...

Re: HEAT (Harmonically enhanced Algorithm Technology)

Therein lies the problem. Avid is different from most other companies. They made the hardware that has caused us G5ers to become left behind. They are a hardware company. The software is free....

Re: HEAT (Harmonically enhanced Algorithm Technology)

Nah. I still love Pro Tools. Working on a mixing tutorial right now which will be shot in good 'ol Tools.

I'm not going anywhere. Too many great plugins (Massey, Digi EQIII etc) that I just can't...

Re: HEAT (Harmonically enhanced Algorithm Technology)

That's because you're hanging out here.

Go to the Reaper forum and you'll see a whole bunch of people using it as their "main" DAW.

Re: HEAT (Harmonically enhanced Algorithm Technology)

Great of you to share this video.

This would also be a great way to use HEAT differently on each track.

You can find the best setting for drums, print that, then move on to the Bass and so on.

Re: HEAT (Harmonically enhanced Algorithm Technology)

I don't understand what that means. I can name feature after feature that Reaper has that Pro Tools still doesn't.

When you tell your users to move on you have to be careful what they move to.

Re: HEAT (Harmonically enhanced Algorithm Technology)

So if I print a virtual instrument to an audio track it will by "default" sound different upon print?

And if I want to record Autotune in graphic mode to an extra track, I have to first bypass the...

Re: HEAT (Harmonically enhanced Algorithm Technology)

It seems kind of confusing to me that if you print that Virtual Instrument, it will then have HEAT on there. Which will instantly make it sound "different". Or do the tracks default to bypass?

And...

Re: HEAT (Harmonically enhanced Algorithm Technology)

Ummm. Uhhh.

Reaper is 64 bit now and their newest version still works with PPC.
