Re: AAX (Dsp) & AAX Native (Daw Cpu) ?

It doesn't matter where the plugins are used.

Why haven't you addressed my second paragraph? What I'm getting at is do you have a real need to find out this info for a purchase or what? We don't...

Re: Can't see any edit or mix windows pro 12

You're way behind the times - PT 12.5 is long gone. It may be in your user account though. Current PT is 2019.10 and if you want to move to that with a permanent license will cost you $299. You...

Re: AAX (Dsp) & AAX Native (Daw Cpu) ?

Yes - they sound the same.
And you've also been told that if a plugin supports aax-dsp it will say so. Just as that if a plugin just says aax you can assume it's aax native and NOT aax-dsp. Those...

Re: ProTools 2018.4 and an old Roland D-20 synth/key

I don't know how you could use it as an effects box as there's no audio input. But you knew that right? Or are you looking to do something else?

Re: AAX (Dsp) & AAX Native (Daw Cpu) ?

There is no digital word data compression going on anywheres.
AAX dsp means if you have an HDX card it gets processed there on the dsp on the card. AAX means it gets processed by the computer's cpu.

Re: Creating a Soundbank in Falcon

The guy that replied over there is one of their soundbank developers. My guess is in addition to what you mention UVI wants to keep a rein on the quality of products sold in relation to their own...

Re: UVI Falcon 'Extras'

I didn't say I didn't get it but that I don't remember getting it. And you can't download the UVI Falcon installer unless you own the UVI Falcon. UVI Portal is innocuous and I love it. First got it...

Re: Can't see any edit or mix windows pro 12

First off the latest compatible OSX for any version of PT 12 (you don't say what exact version you're running) is High Sierra OSX 10.13.2. Mojave compatibility doesn't happen until PT 2019.5 Second...

Re: Creating a Soundbank in Falcon

As near as I know end users like us can't create our own Soundbanks. I don't know if this is you or not but there's this thread over at the Falcontinuum forum:...

Re: UVI Falcon 'Extras'

Have you tried Google?
Apparently it's some utility to play Rex files. I don't recall getting this file in either the Avid supplied Falcon 1.6 or the Falcon 2 from UVI. As to being flagged as an...

Re: AAX (Dsp) & AAX Native (Daw Cpu) ?

Usually a developer will say 'aax dsp' if a plugin supports that. Otherwise when you see 'aax' only take it to mean aax native.

Re: The Composers for the Netflix Hit Show "Stranger Things"

If you want to see some old hardware that gets used from time to time I suggest taking a look at Tom Holkenberg's YouTube page under Junkie XL. He's got one wall that's almost nothing but Moog...

Re: The Composers for the Netflix Hit Show "Stranger Things"

No children either; cats but no children.
Those Prophet 10's also had an overheating problem IIRC. UVI released a soundbank of a P10 but it's just samples and you really don't have access to the...

Re: The Composers for the Netflix Hit Show "Stranger Things"

Had a Korg Mono/Poly years ago and donated it to one of the local theatre groups. Do you still have that Prophet 10?

Re: Why does the DUC ping Facebook?

It's one of those tracking mechanisms that spews your data all over the web. I run NoScript so I don't even see it anymore - it gets blocked so Fakebook doesn't get my data. That along with Privacy...

Re: TV Vocal FX Tips

Part of the sound is in the mic and this is where an EV RE20 comes in - it's practically made for voice-over due to it's proximity effect. The rest of it is in the speaker's voice. Sure you might be...

Re: iLok Cloud

iLok.com only needs to see the iLok from time to time IF you're using the free TLC (theft and loss) coverage. As far as ZDT - it's worth the few bucks one pays for it as is having a spare iLok.

Re: Falcon 2

That's because the UVI soundbanks are not exclusive to PT but work across all platforms including standalone. The only exclusive to PT is the Avid provided soundbank. Two totally separate animals.

Re: Total PT System Usage: CPU Usage at 100% with Nothing Running

I just asked for third party plugins - you don't have to list every single plugin you have. First thing I would do is to move all plugins except for the Avid plugins to the unused plugins folder and...

There's nothing to fix because there's nothing broken. Like I said it's all up to the licensing deal Avid and UVI worked out and none of us are privvy to that bit of business. Other than the error...

No. Didn't have to do that before. Before you could just click on an event in the list and hit the 'delete' key on your Mac keyboard. Where did you find this little tidbit?

edit for additional:

Re: Falcon 2

There's no issue or problem. The Avid supplied soundbank is only licensed for usage in the Avid supplied Falcon 1/2. It all comes down to what Avid and UVI came to as regards licensing.
