Re: Structure Free Drum Samples

Is Druminator just one kit? Does it have a mixer to adjust the levels of each drum (during tracking as well as mixing)? Also, can you add custom samples?

I found a couple sites with tons of free...

Structure Free Drum Samples

I'm new to midi and VI's, but I've been using VI drums since I lost my rehersal space (I have nowhere to set them up.

I've tried the ones that came w/ PT, XPand 2, Boom and Structure Free, as well...

Re: Organizing Plugins / Changing How They're Displayed

Haha. Yes, I'm full aware of the "prefs" abbreviation. I thought someone made a pref app that allows you customize PT beyond the stock preferences.

Re: Organizing Plugins / Changing How They're Displayed

Cool, I definitely need to check that out. PT Prefs is a third party program, ya? Or is it a part of PT?

I have concentration issues when it comes to reading manuals. Although I recently realized...

Organizing Plugins / Changing How They're Displayed

I was watching some mixing tutorial and the guy had his plugins organized in a cool way. I'm talking about the big list when you insert a plugin. By default they're sorted by type, EQ, Dynamics,...

Re: MIDI Playback

I'm pretty sure I have ver 1.5.6 of Structure Free. I've been looking for the manual but all I can find is an old download page from the avid site. The links are broken and it's from ver 1.0.2

Re: MIDI Playback

Does Structure Free just have those 3 drum kits, studio, 80s electric and 90s electric? All the rest are loops that don't work like the 3 kits I just mentioned (playing samples with the midi...

Re: MIDI Playback

Totally. I do the same thing when playing around at local stores.. nothing gets plugged in unless the feel is there.

As far the the Squire goes I already gutted the thing n put in all new...

Re: MIDI Playback

In there lies the problem, I'm broke as ****... and like I was just saying, I couldn't justify spending money (let's just say for this purpose I have some cash) on keyboards and drum VIs when I need...

Re: MIDI Playback

I do that all the time. Sometimes I'll use two different, but similar, snare samples and peck away at the keypad for a surprisingly non-choppy fill.

When you say piano-type are u referring to...

Re: MIDI Playback

Ya, especially buying a used one. I need to go to guitar center to see if I like the feel of those mini key units. I'm not really sure it's even worth going down that path because there's other...

Re: MIDI Playback

Yes, finally someone gets it.

I don't even have a keyboard, so I need to open vmpk first to use my computer keypad. Hopefully we'll get another spot soon so I can just play real drums when...

Re: MIDI Playback

Well if I had a good drum VI I wouldn't have tried to do this in the first place. You definitely learn thru error, which I just have.

Re: MIDI Playback

There must be a misunderstanding.. I want each drum sound (snare, kick, cymbals, etc) on it's own track.
I was reading another thread about being able to split a midi track by pitch to it's own...

Re: MIDI Playback

Ha. Seems like an accurate assessment. I'm more of a musician than engineer, that's for sure. It would be great if I could afford one of those dedicated drum VI's.

Re: MIDI Playback

The reason I wanted it as MIDI was so I could split the notes by pitch, and have each drum/cymbal on it's own track. I don't think you can do something like that in GB.

Re: MIDI Playback

I just realized something.. is it even possible to import a MIDI File created in Garageband into Pro Tools? When I import as an instrument track, it won't output sound until I insert a VI, but then...

Re: MIDI Playback

12.4

I can't play drums at my current residence, so I have to rely on VI drums. I don't have hundreds of dollars for the big name ones, so I'm stuck with XPand!2 (it came bundled with PT).....

MIDI Playback

I barely ever use MIDI, and I'm having a rough time getting a MIDI track I imported to playback. How do I go about doing this? Thanks.

Re: Saturation, Analog Warmth, etc. plugins

Re: Saturation, Analog Warmth, etc. plugins

I went over to sknote's site, but there's no demo version. I am correct, or did I miss something? I wrote the dev an email, but never heard back.

Re: bx_control V2 or Waves Center

It might take me a bit to get there. I just tried bx_console w/o reading the manual. Turned the width knob and I just had sound coming from one side! It seems like a good one to start on

Hmmm.. I'll have to check that out. I can actually afford it too.
A bit off topic, but I just discovered HoRNet Plugins from a thread that alerts you on sales. All their stuff is insanely cheap,...

Re: Saturation, Analog Warmth, etc. plugins

Well that's the point of my post; I'm still figuring out not only what sounds best to my ears, but how to work the dials properly, when to use AC1 vs AC2, or both.

Putting it at the beginning of...

Re: Saturation, Analog Warmth, etc. plugins

I bought AC the other day and I'm still figuring out how it works best for me. When inserting AC101 on every track, or any track really, do you guys put it at the end of the signal chain? To control...
