That happens because Pro Tools uses the AMD Radeon 5500 dedicated graphics card. That card is known to draw lots of power and drains the battery very quickly. That's why the fans kick in high gear...

You can install 2019.12 on a Mojave machine and not have to worry about the 32/64 issues. You don't need Catalina to run it. I did on a 10.14.6 Mini and it's working fine so far. Have both 2019.10...

You'll have to clone over a computer with Mojave on to a separate drive, then boot from the laptop from that drive and clone it over to the laptop. Worked for me.
