Correct. The 850 / 860 evo m.2 is SATA
and 950/ 960 EVO / pro is nvme.

Pro Tools runs well with Coffee Lake.
The only m.2 nvme drive you should want to use is a Samsung Evo or Pro M.2
Motherboard Asrock or Asus. Gigabyte is good, but they definitely fall behind on...

I really get annoyed by posts like this. Windows 7 had its time. Windows 10 is the future. Any future hardware won't be supported by Windows 7 because Microsoft has built-in checks that newer cpus...

Followup. I rolled back to 12.7.1 and the lag is almost nonexistent.

I own S1, Cubase, Sonar Platinum, and have tried a few others (reaper, ableton, bitwig). For some reason, I guess just Pro Tools works for me.

Multi monitor support is huge for me and Pro Tools...

12.6.1 is the next stable version after 12.4 in my opinion. I just moved off 12.4. I would say having 12.6.1 is worth the $99 renewal. I'm on PC.
