Re: Please Tell me that I am Kidding....

Mr. or Ms. Digi,

Just remember that for many of us, maxing out busses has nothing to do with our mixing technique. We max out the busses because we have to print stems, which is the client's...

Re: Please Tell me that I am Kidding....

One other note on this thread: pretty much anyone working in post has run up against the 32 bus limit. You need to split out VO, dialogue, music, SFX, and sometimes M&E, so including your full mix...

Re: Please Tell me that I am Kidding....

I often run out of busses in the first 5 minutes of mixing. I mix score for film and TV, and composers need stems. Even for a session with only, say, 40 tracks, I often am splitting the final mix...

Re: Coldplay abandons Pro Tools

Peppertree,

Please stop making death threats against Digidesign management!

(Sorry, did I just totally distort what you said? It was my perception)

Re: Coldplay abandons Pro Tools

The title of this thread is totally misleading.

1. The quote posted is not a quote from Coldplay.
2. The guy talking specifically says he's not abanoning Pro Tools.

In other words, both...

Re: WORKSPACE: Improvements & Suggestions Bible

This is a pretty specific annoyance that I've mentioned to Digi before:

1. I start a workspace search.
2. Results start coming in from the search. I find a candidate file. Search is still...

Re: Mac Time Machine as Hard Drive(?) + Back Up

The problem is that Time Machine will keep filling up the drive with backups until it's full, and then you'll have no room to put new audio on there. Every time you want to start a new session, or...

Re: McDSP ML4000 - does the full version work on LE?

So I talked to McDSP support, and the answer is yes. The HD version will work with PTLE.

They also happen to be having a sale on individual native plugs for $295, so I'm definitely going to be...

Re: McDSP ML4000 - does the full version work on LE?

dj_stick,

I'm trying to avoid dropping $1395 on the Native Bundle. The McDSP website says the HD version ($495) includes an RTAS plugin - can I use that on my 002?

Thanks,

McDSP ML4000 - does the full version work on LE?

Hi folks,

I'm looking into getting the McDSP ML4000. If you look at the bottom of the product page on the McDSP website, they have a table that lists the different purchase options. At first I...

Re: Using Windows until Leopard is supported

I am running PT 7.3.1 in XP on Bootcamp on my 8-core 2.8 GHz Mac Pro and Digi 002R with 100% stability. The only issue I have is that I can't run PT on a buffer of less than 256, which means I can't...

Re: Windows Guy Peaking Over To The Mac Side. Questions . .

EGS,

I don't remember the buffer setting, but I'm guessing it was 1024, because I always get errors at 128. That's the one thing about running PT on Bootcamp - I find it impossible to work at a...

XP on a Mac Pro?

Anyone here using Pro Tools on XP on a Mac Pro? I'm curious as to how people's experiences have been in terms of stability, plugins working, etc. And do you use Parallels or Bootcamp?

Thanks,

Re: What Mac can I buy that will run Tiger?

Okay, I was just told that you can install Tiger on a secondary drive and boot the computer using that drive - is anyone using Pro Tools successfully this way?

What Mac can I buy that will run Tiger?

Hi folks,

I need to buy a faster computer for an upcoming project. I don't want to gamble with Leopard. I'd like to buy a new Mac Pro, but I've been told they won't run Tiger. Can any of the...

Re: keyswitching in Structure Free - conversion problems

I certainly would never pay for a sampler that didn't read the keyswitches on my samples. But who knows, the bug could just be w/ Structure Free.
