Re: Free gift from Avid: Accusonus Voice Leveler

I do have and sometimes use vocal rider. But I haven't downloaded this one yet, so have no basis to compare. Based on the info page and the video, I'd be more inclined to use it for dialogue in...

Re: Drum VIs? Loops?

Re: Drum VIs? Loops?

Dave (Albee) has some great ideas. I use AIR Transfuser a lot. One reason is it has 2 features that allow for all sorts of creative manipulation of loops to get the "loopness" and "sameness" out. ...

Re: Anyone still using Transfuser?

And be prepared for a dodgy download process, too! AIR doesn't make those things easy! But do get the bundle. You may find you use things more than you think!

Re: Acoustic guitar mixing

When you say "Peaking" do you mean "clipping"? If its not clipping you might have a couple options. Besides using some compression (the Waves Renaissance Compressor might be a good option here),...

Re: when you have to polish a turd

There's MP3s and then there's MP3s. Do you know, for example, what kbps rate was used when the MP3 was created? MP3s created at 128kbps may have some artifacts and such, whereas those created at...

Re: when you have to polish a turd

Hmmm..never heard of this one. Its a bit pricey and I don't often run into situations where I'd need to use it. But it sure looks interesting.

Re: No sound

Pro Tools will accept ASIO4ALL as a valid ASIO driver. But, if you really want to get the most out of Pro Tools, even PT First, I would strongly recommend you look into getting a decent audio...

Some Operation and Editing Questions

I'm currently working on a couple projects where I need to create a lead sheet with chords and lyrics and all that. I use the MIDI in PT to create the lead line and chords, and then export to...

Re: Anyone still using Transfuser?

As others have pointed out, you need the AAX version. It's probably going to be a paid upgrade for you at this point. I use Transfuser a lot. There's nothing quite like it out there. If I only...

Odd MIDI Behavior

I encountered an issue with MIDI when recording some tracks yesterday. I was composing a couple parts for a project. I wanted to do it in sections (intro - verse etc). I recorded the MIDI for the...

Re: Waves Deals

Well, for me, right now at least, I do have to think about CPU. I have an older CPU and even with the SD version, at 64 buffer CPU can go to the red once in a while. Once I get a new system built...

Re: Waves Deals

Well, after 4 attempts using the Waves installer, I finally got the Grand Rhapsody Piano installed and downloaded the SD library separately, and installed on my sample drive. And it all works nicely...

Re: Waves Deals

That's exactly what I did last night. The GR VI installed within minutes without the library. Then I went to my Waves account on the website, and manually downloaded the library. Its a 5.8gig...

Re: Waves Deals

Re: Waves Deals

I've about had it with the Waves installer. I've no made 4 attempts to download the Rhapsody piano and the SD version of the samples. The first time it went about 1/3 of the way, then just stops...

Re: Waves Deals

Initial thoughts on Flow Motion. I do like the sound of it overall. I especially like how the filter can re-shape a sound. And the envelopes are super easy to edit. I'm not the least bit impressed...

You're not kidding! I'm just downloading the SD version of the samples for now. After I use it a while, I might go back to get the HD versions. I began the download about an hour ago and its about...

Re: Waves Deals

For sound design, I actually prefer Dune 3 to Serum, but both are excellent.

On the Waves deal I ended up getting Flow Mo and Grand Rhapsody. I've wanted a decent sounding piano VI with...
