Hi, thanks for taking the time to help me on this. I have Windows 8 64 bit installed so it would easy to do a fresh Pro Tools 2018 install by restoring my system to an old image I have archived.

I had/used Pro Tools 8 for a long time.. never did any upgrade.

Then I build a new system and bought and installed Pro Tools 12 which I have installed until now. I use it record/mix my own songs...

There are six SATA 6GB/s on the Asus Sabertooth X79 - two provided by the Intel X79 chipset and four by the Marvell 9128 SATA Controller. I just bought a Samsung 840 Pro 256 GB for OS, Pro Tools, etc...
