Re: Opening old sessions in PT12

I'm sure nobody sends sessions over for conversion unless you are under contract with them... but nice idea offering help

Re: Plugins Not Working

Hi, welcome to the community.

Not your fault bro, Avid relies way too much that PT users actually read specs, manuals and knowledgebase.

Re: HDX or Native in this scenario

Re: HDX or Native in this scenario

Sounds like crap, but whatever you do DONT pitch correct the monitor feed.

I was once mixing a joker that insisted he hears his vocals tuned  told him that sure I can do that but let's have a...

Re: HD Native Core Card and PE6R4-i Magma Chassis Compatibility

That would work, but when you turn on the chassis and your system sees HDN first and then TDM cards on expansion chassis it gets confused.

Re: HD Native Core Card and PE6R4-i Magma Chassis Compatibility

Even if you have TDM on expansion chassis your host chassis would have HDN installed, so for the information I have it will not work. Easiest would be swapping between HDN card and Magma card on the...

Re: New Mac Pro (7.1)

In percentage or dollar? If something costs 5k and another costs 50k, if you sell it for 20% loss then I'd say 7,1 loses more money.

Re: New Mac Pro (7.1)

At this point any sane company would get the 7,1 that gets you through the transition. Buy a next gen chip laptop for testing purposes, but when you have a paying client coming in you dont want to...

Re: Pro Tools 2019 perpetual license to 2020

Be sure to renew while your plan is still active. Much cheaper and less hassle. Can also set auto-renew on your Avid Account.

Re: HD Native Core Card and PE6R4-i Magma Chassis Compatibility

AFAIK, you cannot have both TDM and HDN installed at the same time.

Re: Auto renew only??

Correction: Avid stopped selling REINSTATEMENTS which means "upgrading" your PT license with lapsed support and upgrade plan to current plan. You can (and should) still RENEW while the plan is...

Re: How Is Sample Rounding STILL A THING

MIDI is never sample accurate. Data rate being 31250 bits per second it does not match any audio sampling rate at any DAW.

Re: Avid Discontinue Upgrade & Support Plan Re-instatement for Perpetual Licences

You know what else this "no time limit" means? Perpetual licenses are not going to be going away. Even though it looks like Avid is trying to get customers to subscribe, it also means perpetual...

Re: Running ProTools 12.6 on Sierra 10.12.6

Only tested on 10.12.0 but if it works with buggy dot-zero it will also work with the latest version

Re: Macintosh moving to ARM

Re: Pro Tools did NOT save my hard work nor did Session Back up

Losing a session is always user error. Even if PT lost contact with one single audio file, the playback would stop and you would be notified there is a problem with storage.
